Lots of firsts with this car. Kinda proud so far, though its not much to look at. First 350 i ever dropped into something. First quadrajet I ever rebuilt. Totally started from scratch. The junkyard has been my best friend. This forum kicks ***, gotten lots of help so far. Heres my roadkill Camaro. It's not really mine, It belongs to my boss and its to flip and sell in the spring, but you better believe ill be getting another one for myself. These pics are on another thread somewhere else but I figured id start a build thread and ill drop a youtube link to a burnout when I get her running. its a small block 350 with a 700R4 trans out of a conversion van in the junkyard. Tailshaft was correct for the torque arm THANK GOD. Drive train is pretty much all assembled. Getting alot more parts from the yard tomorrow too. Need trans. cooler lines, selector arm for the shift cable, shift cable mount, torque arm mount with bushing, radiator, electric rad. fans, button up the wiring. Should be squalin' tires by the end of the week with any luck.

Thanks man. Im not sure if im going to be doing much with the cosmetics of the car other then getting all the parts together so its complete. The body is pretty solid and straight with the exception of some daylight through the trunk floor in a couple little spots. Since this car is to flip and body work isn't my strong point, ill probably leave it as is and sell it as a very restorable sleeper to some punk kid like me lol I saw the digital dash option on the internet. That instrument panel looks wicked but this is all analogue with a few dummy lights. Ill be installing an aftermarket radio since it doesnt have one. other then a missing speaker cover in the back, the interior is very clean and complete, a quick vacuuming and itll look like new.
Working on shifter cable mount and selector arm. The ones I pulled from a newer firebird out in the junk yard were wrong so ill be heading back there today. Installed my transmission cooler lines and torque arm mount on the tail shaft last night. Today ill try and button up the shifter issues and get the radiator installed. More pictures coming later
Waiting on an aftermarket flexible dipstick tube for the transmission. Got the wiring all figured out I think. Right now, i have the steering column pulled apart to tighten those stupid torx bolts that come loose and leave the wheel all sloppy. Made a shift cable extension out of some 1/2 in copper tubing and ill be using the shifter arm off of a 80's firebird. Installed a starter. Next ill put the radiator and fans in and see how well she runs.
Think I got the electrical figured out. Checked over my starter wiring and found the fusible links hidden in that metal tube that all the wires run through. Crimped new ends on a couple of them, I had a feeling the car was gonna start on fire when i turned the ignition on but it didn't and everything seems to work except for the rear running lights and horn. Even bumped the starter for a split second and it works. Dipstick tube is out for delivery today. Found TDC and put my distributor back in. After the dipstick is installed, ill move on to plumbing fuel to the carburetor and putting fluids in the motor and trans. Got it running last night Ill post a video on youtube this afternoon of the startup and get a link on here. It runs awesome. Forgot to put the transmission in park after fooling with the shift cable last week so it almost drove through the garage when i was snapping the throttle on the carb with my hand. Waiting for some 2 1/2" outlet stubs (pipes that mount to the manifolds) from the local muffler shop that I can add to as i run the exhaust towards the back of the car. Oil press. gauge works, volt meter works too. After I get the pipes on there, ill throw some coolant in it and run it up to temp. If i get this olds ciera back together and out of the way, i might be able to get it out in the lot and test the transmission. More pictures coming too.
