Side Mirror Glass for RHD

Hi,

I have a Right Hand Drive 1988 Camaro.

The glass/reflective surface of the side mirrors is damaged and needs to be replaced.

As a RHD car the mirror field of view for each of the side mirrors is the opposite of US cars.

Any suggestions where I could get new mirrors for my RHD Camaro?

Have you checked a glass shop to have one made? sometimes they can cut a mirror that you can glue right over top of your existing mirror that way you dont have to deal with mounting

Might have to do that.

The existing glass/reflective surface seems to be factory manufactured. This makes me think it is from another model car which was available factory-delivered in Australia.

What other 1980's cars would have had the same side mirror?

Doing some research it appears these people are the best bet.

http://www.mirrors4cars.com.au/

Sounds like they have templates for a range of cars and they custom cut them.

I'll get a convex mirror for the left/passenger side, and flat for the right/drivers side.

Will cost $160 for the pair of mirrors.

Not cheap but when you have no other resources....

Could you post some pictures of the car - specifically the interior? I've never seen a RHD 3rd gen.

Wow, you're right. The C4 mirror looks the same as a Camaro.

Decided as it's Right Hand Drive car I'll go to the mirror place and get some fabricated so I can get a flat mirror for the right and a convex mirror for the left.

I think you have enough clearance to fit these.

Re: Side Mirror Glass for RHD

Further research shows that third gen Camaros, Monte Carlos and C4 Corvettes all share the same side mirror glass.

Gotta love the way GM was so efficient at parts commonality!
