I did a radiator swap today and bought generic heater hoses in 1/2, 3/8, 5/16. My plan was to replace the hoses attached to the throttle body on my 87 IROC with 350. I removed the throttle body to replace the T-stat and wanted to replace all the hoses but the radius of the bends are too tight on a couple of them to put on without kinking them. So what do you guys use for replacement hoses on the throttle body?

Its called "vacuum" hose or "vacuum" line.

Hard "vacuum" lines most likely at "Pick N Pull" if your lucky.

Hoses coming from the "Charcoal Canister" are different. That is "Fuel" line.

i am try to source the water hose that goes from the engine block above the water pump to the throttle body. it is a short 1/2" hose maybe 4"long ,but it makes a a sharp 180° turn. aim thinking of pulling the hose nipple out of the engine block and plugging it. then figure out a way to plug the heater hose bypass.

Maybe a picture would help if your not referring to acdelco 14097S.

 

Hot coolant is for cold drivablitly, and emissions. Block them off and don't worry about them. It's been done since the carb. days.

You should just bypass the TB Here is a copy of a thread with the part number for a Goodyear hose. Goodyear no longer makes it but the part number is still good. I ordered this hose from Amazon and some hose nipple covers to plug up the open TB inlets. this hose goes from the intake directly to the heater valve.


It is a Goodyear Hose. I was able to find it online at Autozone. If you go to their website and do a search for 63069 it will pull up the hose. You can order it from there. That hose will work much better than the hose I've got now. Thanks iamiroc
