This thread is for April 2017 COTM **Nominations**PLEASE READ AND UNDERSTAND THE COTM NOMINATION RULES BEFORE PROCEEDING TO NOMINATE A MEMBER’S RIDE FOR COTM. REMEMBER, WE MUST PROTECT THE INTEGRITY OF THE CONTEST SO THAT THE MOST DESERVING MEMBER WINS.
This thread is a Nomination Thread to nominate cars that will compete for this month's Car of the Month honor. The 12 (or less) most popularly nominated cars will be compiled into a *Voting Thread* in a couple of weeks. If you do not nominate a member's car for COTM, you can still second or third (fourth, fifth, so on) someone else's nomination. Cars must have at least a second nomination in order to make the Voting Thread.
Do not nominate your own car. Your car must be nominated by another TGO Member.
Do not ask your wife, husband, friends, extended family, etc. to register as TGO Members for the purpose of nominating your car.
Do not nominate more than one car.
Do not use multiple member accounts to nominate your own car or to nominate multiple cars.
This is not a picture thread. Post only one (1) good photo of the car you wish to nominate. Do not use a photo-edited picture.
You must post a picture with your nomination. This must be a full-sized picture (or at the very least, a pic or thumb that enlarges into a full-sized picture when you click on it).
Correctly identify the user name of the member who you nominate.
Correctly identify the year and model/trim of the car you nominate.
Do not nominate cars that are not in a high quality, finished state.
And if you are nominated, please DO go out and take an abundance of good quality photos of your ride (multiple angles, interior, engine) and make them publicly accessible (for example via a photo album in your public profile or some sort of hyperlink to your photo album.)
**Editor's Note**
This year I would like to, for the most part, give the members who participate the freedom to choose nominees unencumbered by monthly qualifications of make, trim, and build-type. i have always said that TGO Members do an excellent job of choosing a variety of different types of cars. The one caveat however is this: We need to try to get some new blood into the nomination process. If your buddy (or a member who has a car that you really appreciate) has been nominated two or three times in 2016...and 2015, lets maybe give it a rest for a while. It gets old, even for the guy who has to copy and paste a campaign in the Voting Thread every other month.
The same high standards are still in place. The COTM Bait Thread is still open in the sticky section. Refer to it. Add to it.
*****This Month's Criteria*****
OPEN SEASON
Any very high quality, finished, stock or modified 1982-92 Camaro or Firebird.
IROCZman15 -- He's in the bait thread, he wants to play, and it is a darn nice car.
I will second this car. Not only is the car dead sexy, he drives the heck out of it. He ran the car in the Optima Batteries search for the ultimate street car series last season in New Jersey?.... anyway SWEET ride!

That he does! I had the pleasure of seeing this car in person when we were in the IROC display in Carlisle! He's a great guy and knows his stuff, and his car is super clean and looks fantastic!
Thank you guys. Gotta say I feel very honored for the nomination; I truly do. Especially from QwkTrip who is a mega member and recent cotm winner... and from BadNBLK the 2016 car of the year winner. I am planning on running Optima this year, but they moved the NJ event from May to August; I had to change my vacation plans around to be able to attend. I will also certainly be doing some autocross events this year and running some 1/4 mile passes.
Travis, thanks! I remember meeting you at Carlisle and I would be there again this year if it wasn't the same weekend as the Camaro nationals down in Maryland. I was trying to think of a way to do both events, but don't think it is possible. The photo I used (above) was taken at Carlisle 2 years ago as I am sure you know, and your blue IROC was probably 50 feet away from mine! good times (aside from that rain)

That is dedication to the race man. Changing the vacation to fit. Well I look forward to seeing some Big Jim shots of you running this summer. Good luck here!
Ok, I can think of about 10 other cars on these boards that could easily be nominated. Obviously I used mine.... All you have to do it Copy and Paste a picture, and post the members name correctly!!!!
Sorry, for some reason it didnt copy over properly (Im sure its me and me alone). Again I second z28cop's 85 Iroc. I grabbed this pic from his photo album.
It's a neat car for sure. Since the pictures don't reveal it, I think it is fair to other nominees that people (voters) realize the paint on that car is not good quality.

Just asking, is it the color or quantity of metal flake or the body work pre-paint that you disagree with? The pictures aren't from good angles and lighting isn't good for me to able to judge if the paint/clear wasn't sprayed or polished well or if there is a waviness to the finish product.

From what I have seen with the pics of that car, to say the paint isn't of good quality might be a low blow. The car was just painted this last summer, and it hasn't been cut and buffed. I also haven't tried to nit pic his paint.
It's a very cool car with so many "outside of the box" modifications done at home, very sucessfully. I wouldn't think that cause his paint isn't perfect there should be any reason to hold back a great looking purpose built 3rd gen in a time where it's hard enough to get clean nominations.
Let the voters handle it, if they don't care for the paint condition/quality.
Not everybody has the same objective when they build a car, which means not everybody has the same goals for performance, appearance, etc. This month's COTM is open season, so we're not going to get like cars competing against each other. We already have some modified and stock cars nominated.
I've seen morrow's car in person before and after paint, and I thought it was cool both times. It's a unique build; can you think of another third gen anywhere that's like it?
If this nomination is allowed in, let the voters decide. And remember this is for fun; thirdgen.org isn't giving winners free trips to Disney.
