Wanted 92 vert
Re: Wanted 92 vert
You really should post more details....are you looking for a project? Mint, original? Or something in between? Location would help, as well. Also, if you post your budget, that'll help too. I have a 1991 Trans Am convertible with 27,000 original miles at $13k, however I have no idea if that is what you are looking for or if I am even within 1,000 miles of you. Best of luck in your search.
Re: Wanted 92 vert
Ebay might be your best bet. A few have sold over the last couple of months, of course several are currently available, but they are looking for mid to high teens....and I'd actually call those driver quality...except for the blue one with 9K miles on it, but they are pricing it at a possible price five years or more out....it got to $16K+ and still didn't hit the reserve....good luck with the search!

That's a nice car I saw it on eBay and was very impressed!

Chicago: 1991 Firebird Convertible, Triple Black, V8 TBI, automatic with 160K miles on it. Cloth interior in very good condition, no tears or repairs, dash pad is perfect, passenger window a little slow, driver's is fine. Probably a repaint, but years old at this point and shows fine; could use a clay bar and buff and wax, although it does show nice an shiny now. Very little rust on passenger rear wheel well approximately 4 inches and I'll probably rattle can that just to preserve it. Currently missing passenger front gfx (although I am still looking for it so it I find it, it will go on). Underside is clean with a little rust, nothing extreme. $3,800.00 and if you are interested let me know and I'll go pull it out of storage and take some pictures. Oh, and I wouldn't be afraid to drive it to Florida as it does run real nice.

Dang, them some big pictures! Anyway, a little more about the car. Every car looks better in pictures than standing six inches away and this car is no exception. Paint shows better than it is, but the car does shine up really well. Those pictures were taken today after pulling it from storage. Top in very good condition, however the rear window was replaced and it is an amateur job; never mattered to me because I always drove with the top down. Fuel gauge always reads full, so it doesn't work right. Trunk shocks are weak, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. Runs well and motor seems strong. Shifts as it should, and really does drive very well. Could use front brakes and antennae doesn't retract, but radio works fine...little crackle in the speakers and that is likely from sitting as most of my cars have the exact same issue. Happy to answer any questions you may have.

Nice looking car for that price. Don't think you are going to find car it much better condition for your price range.

blacksunshine"91: Thanks for your thoughts and yes, I believe my price is absolutely more than fair, actually it is too cheap since I know exactly what the car is and exactly what is available as far as 91/92 convertibles go. The car we'll go back in storage or maybe get tossed on ebay but, with all due respect to others on the board, I'm really not about to get involved with "the lowest I'll go" when I believe the car is already priced too low...

Re: Wanted 92 vert
On a separate note, I had my vert shipped from Florida to California for $1100. Yes, that is higher than a lot of places will do it and you can easily find cheaper places. I went with the highest rated, and one who carried insurance and backed up their services instead of using one that might flake or be less than reputable just to save a few bucks.
I am sure that paying $3800 for the car will leave you plenty of wiggle room to get your car shipped down there and still come in under your $5k budget. Additionally, the seller seems to be a pretty stand up guy. Should you have any issues with the car later, I would think he would be willing to help you within reason.
I have no vested interest in either party. I just see a great opportunity being possibly squandered over internet haggling etiquette.

With a 5k budget you would be lucky to get a car like that!
Just so you know, you should be able to get it to Florida and still be in your budget.
Contact roy@doortodoortransport.com and tell him Chris in CT sent you - he'll give you the best price.

Since youre in Florida also, I'd try to just pick it up in person and enjoy a nice journey home in your new vert. I think that you'd be hard pressed to find a nicer looking third gen Vert for less than $5k...

Claudioa: No rush, I figured you weren't really all that serious and I put the car back in storage. I plan to put it on Ebay within the next couple weeks and you can keep track of it there. I'll try to let you know when it goes live.

Claudioa, if you are serious about buying the car I would highly recommend contacting toomanybirds directly immediately to arrange payment. If that car hits ebay, I don't think it will stay within your budget.
