Re: Chrome Strut Tower covers

Nobody currently makes them. The best you will do is buying an aftermarket pair, having them blasted and then sent off to chrome plate them. Nobody currently makes the aluminum version either. Do you have some super chromed out show car engine bay that needs them?

Re: Chrome Strut Tower covers

after ya get the car into the 10s (1/4 mile) take it apart and chrome and plate/polish it all...
takes money and time..but it's fun...and ya get to install all the coolest new parts...(takes 4 months to polish a aluminum SBC block)IF YOU WORK on it 2 to 3 hrs a night with a Dremel tool...and beer...chrome plate price??expl. hood hinges $150ea
rear disk brake steel parts $250 a set.(shop on that one)I was lazy... camber plates UMI $150 a set..K member braces $100 a set.. ya can get money into it..but its all in fun....then take it back to the track and beat on it!..side note: DO NOT LET ANTI FREEZ set on chrome for more then 1 min! unless you like the frosted look....on a good note..some shops will give you a life time warranty on their chrome work...

Well, to answer it doesn't really matter what anyone has to put them on if its something wanted then so be it. But Yes the engine compartment on my Pro Street 3rd Gen is very worthy of them although not sure they would look better than black ones. If available I would buy them & find out!

Re: Chrome Strut Tower covers

whats cheaper then chrome? ...gold zink..and rust proof for life..

you can paint over the zink...but it will never rust...I think if ya zink it. then powder coat it..ya never have to think about it a 2nd time..

this stuff would look Fantastic on a Black Camaro...
but its all in how you want to do your car..chrome....Zink...billet..it all looks good

in the end...it all will look good....on a side note: ya can chrome plastic..looking at getting a front filler plate done..

Re: Chrome Strut Tower covers

thank you
I have always wanted to back half my Camaro...
as the mini tub keeps me under a 13" wide tire at 29" tall..all under the car...
but I would like to go bigger..

I found a few shops the chrome plastic..as I want to do a few things under the hood...going to give them a call and get a price on the filler piece that fills the gap around the hood latch..im thinking $200 to $250..i tride a place that told me thye could make it out of aluminum...but none of the bolt holes line up..and ..well...not up to my standards (killer Camaros)...not so much..killer..more a waste of $200+ bucks...

chrome power steering pump..or billet ?..im going with billet...the chrome one in the first set of eng pics will go back in the box and put away...like so many other parts...

.

Man thats going to be sweet. Not going quite that elaborate, mine is an Ed Quay set up on the Chassis, Steering, etc. Would actually be a legal Super Stock car with different engine & hood. all interior is put back in . no power steering or brakes, Has a Vega Steering box. I also have a White '83, its a nice one also , but not to the detail you are at.

I also have a "71 Drag car.... I guess its a Camaro thing.. lol

Not saying it doesn't look good. It's just more what I would expect on an older generation of car...

yes.. its the one you Made.. with the welds cut down and buffed out..and welds added on the under side..it took some massaging to contour/shape the welds came out looking smooth..with a good polishing..to go with all the other bling bling parts

the newer cars are a lot of plastic..some more then others..this is just me when it come to adding the flash..my first hot rod was a 67 ford fairlane with a bigblock..now that car had bling added..even had a buddy who ran a chrome shop..made things easy..just paid for the guys buffing time on the steel parts..lol.. the Difference on my cars. when done. is I drive mine...this car Iv had from day one..the paint is still the same that GM first put on the car..im thinking how it would be to polish out the aluminum big block..that would be bling...a polished ZL1+. with 615 CID..now that would stand out...(this is how it starts out) what if..
