We think 1984 was maybe the last year for blue, next run will be black tops but we don't have any decals, I see freedom and freedom II black top runs through 1987ish. Maybe past
We walked around and saw about 10 cars with them on, one guy had a nice topper but he put a PC of melted glass for the eye, it didn't look rite.
The Freedom came out in 76, thru 1987ish
I have a few Freedom warranty cards that came in the glovebox lit, I'll post, I've only seen 3, hard to find.
Yes. All Firebird guys, My site is mainly sec gens, also we get a lot every year at dream cruise, I'll post next year, swing in. We had about 35 Birds come in through out the day.
Pasteiners on a sat morn, the car next to me it a 1980 T/A. Pasteiners is a Memorabilia place at 14 & Woodward, the cars and coffee is good, sat morn till about 10 am. You never know what will roll in.
I'll post the two pics of the black tops, we need to be sure on these decals. any help on the decals are appreciated. The mold we have will be correct for making the black tops. If anyone has their own decals, you could paint one of these blue tops black.
Next time at Duggans, if your upstairs, look up, the Trans Am Reaper donated a rear spoiler and it's hanging up there, aussietata donated a dog dish hub cap from an Aussie Holden and it's hanging on the wall.
I have pics from dream cruise, but it's all sec gen's, prob not too interested. I do have some pics from the recent Natz, I'll post.
There's a min of 1,000 to have a run made, you and another guy wants one. Lol then who knows who will really buy on, this isn't a get rich quick thing, I doubt we will ever make our orig investment back. If so, it'll be a long time. Ames just picked them up from us, if you want one, get it now. When their catalog comes out they will be $79.95. I'm doing $75 now.
I suggest buying a blue one and painting it. We just bought a few Delco battery books to verify decals up to the 90's.
Here's a deal for everyone on 3rd Gen.Org, no where else, $75 free ship for one (1) week only.
Till next Saturday at midnight, shipped free priority. 15$ savings, plus $5 off the price. I can leave decals off if you want to paint it black.
Post here if you want one.
1984 and up is hard to get any solid info on, I'm getting conflicting stories, people tell you bad info, lol. It could be that one in the pic or I have 2 more pics of black top battery's, I'm not sure. Look in your GM manual, look in your owners manual, email GM's Heritage center. Watch you tube videos that are dated, buy freedom manuals at the swaps, pics are on the front, with dates, you gotta be your own detective, it was 3 years in the making for the toppers we do.
I picked one of your toppers for my 2nd gen at the TA Nats this summer, they look fantastic . If you decide to make 3rd gen toppers I'm sure they would sell

Thanks for the feedback, the Olds and Cadillac people are happy with them too.
Burd can you ma
can you make me a freedom battery top like this?
This one pic shows up time and time again, If I saw another pic of the same battery to back it up I would like that, but I haven't seen another, but we can make you one if you like. What I don't like about this pic is there's no writing on the right side by the eye, There is a digitizing fee to get it all set up. Up to you.
There is another pic of a red dot decal on a freedom battery, The red dot looks to be the cut out from the eye, people have asked for them in the past, we save them. I didn't put a red dot on my topper, I saw some at the show in Dayton that did. We have these dots as well.

Not sure if mine was Blue or Black(I'm leaning more for Black)it appears the pics you have show the Black ones are Freedom and Freedom II,my Owners Manual is showing the Freedom Battery is what was used for 86.
PS.notice the manual is showing the label more to the edge than the center.

If you note the angle stripe on the decal, that what the blue tops looked like.
Here's a manual we just bought, it has a service date of 1985 on it. Yet some people swear that their 84's were a black battery. I'm not convinced. Some wrong info got into a Corvette restoration manual,
