Front bumper cover mod complete

I started this project in 2008 when I chopped up my front bumper. My dad watched in shock as I took a jigsaw to a perfectly good bumper cover. Life happened and the project was delayed as my car sat with a huge hole in the front of it... Until this year:

Re: Front bumper cover mod complete

Definitely unique, i like it, well done.

I wonder what it would look like with both pairs of headlamps and a smaller version of the grill in the middle.

(edit)I did a terrible photo shop, not sure which one i prefer tho.

Re: Front bumper cover mod complete

Thanks, I kept going back and forth on which way i would do it. I like them both. For some reason I went with the single light with wider grille in the end.

That is unique. I like it as well. All that hole needs now is an intercooler lol. Time for HIDs if you're keeping singles

Re: Front bumper cover mod complete

From the pictures it looks well done. I think if you cut the length of the grill down to where it didn't cover the headlights it would look better. But hey, not my car/project.

Re: Front bumper cover mod complete

I'm normally not much of a body mod type of guy but I like this.
You may have to do the old muscle car thing and blackout everything behind the grill but nice work.

Nice mod but i think i would prefer the 2 lights with the smaller grill as well. You did a really good job however and is certainly unique.

Thanks! Like I said, I went back and forth with how much grille to headlight I wanted. In the end, two headlights seemed to look more like a new challenger, while one made it look more 1st or 5th gen camaro. Decided to keep it in the "family" and went with one headlight per side.
I did go in and black out the area behind the grille by painting core support black. Really made it look a lot cleaner. Here's some post-paint pics:

Re: Front bumper cover mod complete

I'm not going to do that to my car, but I do like it. I think it makes the car resemble an early fox body mustang. The pics look great, nice job.

I can respect the work that went into that and the dedication to pursue your vision, but I'm not a fan of the look.

I thinking looks good but the amount of time you put into it-- I don't like it that much.

Re: Front bumper cover mod complete

I know this is an old post but I really like it. If you wanted to make it more like a first gen, you could put small orange rectangle running lights on the grill inside from the main lights like on 68's.

I don't really know how it would look but it could be cool. The hard part would be mounting it.

What grill is that? Did you have it custom made or is it off something else?

Re: Front bumper cover mod complete

Its a really polarizing look. Most people will swing fairly far in one direction or another in response.

Props to the work though. Aside from the passenger corner of the hood it looks almost like a factory piece.
