I found this at a swap meet. I paid $5 for it...... It doesn't have injectors in it and the IAC hole is blank, not drilled or tapped.....
Anybody have any experience with these? I would never pay full retail for one, but since I got it for $5 and I have a pretty stout TBI I'm now working on, I'm going to explore the possibility of using it.
I will post whatever I find out about it. Me too, I have never seen one in person except this one.
That is a good point about IAC. I figured it would have been drilled from the factory anyways though??? Anything that needed TWO of these to fuel it must have been one bad son of a bitchin TBI.
I think the ticket to using this might be bolting a GM injector pod on to it because I don't have the injectors that it came with and they look way overpriced, like the unit itself. And, the GM injectors are probably better all around anyways. Check out what this guy did:
That one uses the "old" style injectors. Holley sells an update kit. I'll dig around for a P/N, but it'll be expensive. You sure it doesn't have the injectors?
Wild guess: That's not one of the emissions-legal TBI replacement units. That one was part of a stand-alone TBI kit.
Very curious about this as well. That Holley unit I believe will flow over 200 more CFM than the stock TBI, should be good for a few ponies. From what I read, you made need a bigger fuel pump and get a flash.
looks like the Holley "ProJection" I bought back in 1993...Introduced ~1989,was a simple, universal,EFI kit to retrofit to carb v8 engines...My installation on a 305 actually ran pretty strong and good most of the time, but part throttle mixture distribution was terrible.IIRC 2 barrel ProJection was able to fuel up to 320 HP.Only feedback was TPS and CTS.
