distributor cap

It may seem ridiculous, it's because I break nothing!
The little hat that holds the bottom of the spark plugs
, is there a way to remove it
without breaking? Is there a clip?

You mean the ring on the distributor that the plug wires are clipped into? It has a lock or latch on each side of the coil. Should even say "press to unlatch" or something similar.
