I'm looking at running an Edelbrock Performer 2101 intake on my '89 Formula. How would I run my vacuum lines, mount my throttle cable bracket, install my temp sensor, and install any other fittings that where on the factory intake?
Most or all of that will be the same as the factory TBI manifold, there may be slight differences but for the most part it will be similar. You will need an adapter to run the throttle body itself on the spread bore manifold though.
Usually the brake booster vacuum is pulled from the port directly behind the carb flange. There is a plug in it now in the pic, pop out that plug and get a fitting screwed in and run a hose to it. You wont need to use the hard line section.

Could I just take the fitting out of the TBI intake and use it on the Performer?
Possibly, I recommend getting a tee since you will be adding the brake booster to the existing connection there. Plus it looks to be smaller than you will need for the booster hose.
The only other question I have is about a TBI adapter plate. I’ve seen plate with the holes to the front, rear and center. I’m assuming center mount is what I need?
One other thing with that intake, it is the early design intake mounting bolt pattern. Will need to slot the four center bolt holes so they line up with the heads. Two on each side adjacent to the plenum.

That 2101 appears to be just about the same height as the OE TBI intake. Is that correct?
Also, assuming the adapter you choose will put the TBI unit in the same relative location fore/aft in the car as the factory intake? That was linkages, fuel lines and the like will all hook back up with little change?
