Chuck did my wheel and I agree, I think it was quite reasonable and he's excellent to work with and super-fast. Best of all, I still have my (mostly) original steering wheel.

Looks good by what you can gather from the photo.. some of the wheels that get re-done the leather looks slightly different than OE the way it comes up the spokes

Someone here needs to order one and report back. I love Chuck Pelton's work, but it's not IDENTICAL to OEM. Leather is different and rim slightly thicker.

What does Pelton charge anyway? Not including the shipping. I haven't seen any recent reviews of his work.
And on a similar note, what's the latest for a repop Camaro dash pad? The contributors to this thread seem to have an inside track on this stuff.

$185 is a far cry from the nearly $400 for the reproduction piece.
I'd like to know how that kind of comparison works regarding having the OEM dash pad professionally recovered. At nearly $600 for a reproduction pad, it seems to me that would get you a lot a labour with respect to refinishing the factory part.

Re: Classic Industries reproduction IROC steering wheel
He has posted offering $60 for cores on z28 wheels, so somewhere around that if you dont have one to send him. When i sent my 1st wheel, he said if a had an extra i could send it for a core discount.I didnt have one to send though. Now that i mentioned that on my second wheel i wanted perforated leather, which he doesnt use, so he let me send him my leather & gave me a small discount. So that $185 reflects that discount. If you call him he may work with you....food for thought.

I seem to be accumulating these steering wheels and all of them need to be recovered. I haven't been able to find anyone in my neck of the woods that is willing to take on the job either.

I think I just paid $230 to get the '82 redone by Chuck. I sent him my original wheel and he redid mine. I had to wait a few weeks, but I was ok with that. The '82 still has it's original wheel!

Re: Classic Industries reproduction IROC steering wheel
I've got a few steering wheels, too. I was going to have Chuck re-do the steering wheel on my '83. He wanted $150 back then, plus shipping back and forth, which would have been another 20 bucks or so. I said how much just to buy an '82-'83 3 line wheel already done. He said $200 shipped. That sounded like a better deal to me, and I kept the original.
