Darin Morgan talks about air and fuel flow

I found this to be very interesting. Figured some of you would too. Darin Morgan does a really good job explaining complex matters in ways most people can grasp. I'm hoping he is making more videos!

Great videos. In the first one is good info about ls7 cylinder head intake port.

Re: Darin Morgan talks about air and fuel flow

Yeah, it's the first time I've heard an explanation why some good flowing heads don't make power. You got air flow, and then you've got fuel flow. Cylinder head flow numbers don't tell the story of fuel flow.

Seems that carburetor and TBI guys have a lot more to think about on manifold selection than port injection guys.

And it's crazy how important a valve job is. After seeing these videos I'll never let anybody touch my heads except who I bought them from.

Re: Darin Morgan talks about air and fuel flow

I had another look at these (or most of it anyway). Since the first time I watched them to today, I've studied more on port design and have a better understanding on things like velocity, average and minimum CSA and the like. Re-watching the videos with that better understanding helps a great deal in an even better understanding.
It's not like I'm going to do anything about as I'm not about to port a set of heads anytime soon. But knowing what's going on will help towards making better choices when or if the time comes for another set of heads.
