1986 Z28 305 TPI stalls when coming to a stop

Hey, First time on these forums.

i have a 1986 Camaro Z28 with the 305 TPI, the guage cluster has been removed in order to install a new digital conversion kit im waiting for a friend to have the time to put the new guages in but in the mean time i need to be able to drive it (currently using a speedo app on my phone) but after removing the guage cluster the car stalls and dies when coming to a stop it never did this when the cluster was in but none of the guages worked. is there something i need to bypass and if so what?

Do you have a Vss ? Might need to install a retrofit one from tpiparts.net

If the cluster is missing then no Vss signal to the ecm
does it look like this ?

This would fix the lack of Vss signal to the ecm. Install at the transmission

https://tpiparts.net/inc/sdetail/7586

ground one wire and 2k ppm to ecm pin a10.

it looks similar, the one on mine is yellow and runs from the tachometer to the speedometer on the original cluster with the connector going onto the printed circuit board on the back of the gauges

Must be like this , without a Vss signal the ecm won’t do lockup and won’t properly control iac on deceleration.

Your needs speedometer probably has a Vss but could be wrong ppm.
you can get a Dakota digital sgi-100bt to get ecm proper signal.
