83/84 Z28 Rear Bumper Emblem Location

I finally got my car in paint, and I am now at reassembly stage. While I am not doing a concours restoration, I would like to know the factory placement of the stick on Z28 emblem location on the back bumper, passenger side for the 1983/1984 Z28. I assume that the assembly line guys and girls "kind of" placed them in a general position (not perfect for each car as they are mass produced).
Could I bother one of you all who have an original car to give me a ballpark measurement from the factory indent (for lack of the better term) on the back bumper to the start of the emblem?

Thanks! Aaron

The ballpark is more visual than dimensional.

Draw a straight line down from the left edge of the yellow lens. That would be either the very left edge of the Z28 emblem or the middle of the Z. That gives you a rough placement since the factory just stuck them on.

I’m pretty sure the factory used some kind of template to stick the Z28 emblems on back then.

I remember when these cars were new and the emblems seemed to be in the same exact location on the rear bumpers. However, whether or not you can find the correct measurements is another question.

If you need it to be exact, you can always find an original untouched car and just get the measurements off that.

Not sure I've ever seen a guide for these on a 3rd Gen, but with almost every other car I've owned, you can find guides for emblem/stripe placement in the service manual. It may have to be the 'body' manual, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's not in one of the manuals. I've never had to look for this, yet, but may have to when we paint the B4C.
