87 TPI / Manual - faint coolant smell, runs appx 160 max
Backstory: 49K mile Formula TPI spends most of its life retired in the garage, save for periodic runs to local shows, etc.
Fired it up this spring for some vendor trips to catch overdue maintenance, and after a few 100+ mile rides (nothing severe, but one with AC on the whole way) seemed like it took a long time for the temp to come to 160 appx indicated, and on shutdown, there is a very faint aroma of coolant.
But, level is full hot at shutdown and rad is up to the cap where it is supposed to be, no visible leaks/drips.
In the day, I'm pretty sure a water control valve was replaced - and I know they are famous for hairline leaks that keep pressure from building.
Any ideas or similar situations? Appreciate any insight on this, or direction to threads where this has been discussed.

If I do not see any visible leaks or signs of leak I would remove the lower dash panel on the passenger side and inspect well. The heater core could be suspect
