wheel/tire size maxes and factory backspacing?

wheel/tire size maxes and factory backspacing?
I did some searching and found the recent threads about the 10x15/27 hoosiers. It seems to indicate that with a 4.5bs will fit and a 10.5x15/28 will fit with a 5.5bs (and a little hammer). IS this about right??
What is the backspacing on most factory rear wheels?? like 20mm?
