To make a long story short my parents are 9n the middle of a divorce because my father has basically lost his mind. My Z was in his name for finance purposes. Anyway he just felt like being an *** and came and took the car today when I wasnt around. I just told him yesterday that I had the 10k to pay it off,and put it in my name. He agreed to get together with me later this week to pay the bank and turn the title over to me. So those of you that know the car, please be on the look out for it. I cant remember the plate # right now but I will post it later. I cant call the cops because its technically his car. But I do have proof that ive paid every payment since I bought the car 1 1/2 years ago. it has a large GM performance parts sticker on the back window. its a 1998 Z28 ,Navy blue metallic with gfx and chrome wheels. The rear licenceplate frame says "bad blue Z". All im asking is that if anyone sees the car that they please let me know. I know its not at his house and reasoning with or harassing him will do me no good i just need to find out where the car is at.

I'm not sure if there's any legal steps you can take, since it is his name, but it seems like he'll either have to give the money back or hand the car over to you. I guess luck is always changing from one person to the next. I just got out of school and got my liscense today. (It's my 16th b-day) But it sounds like your day sucked.

Good luck on getting it back. If he gives you trouble, try talking to a lawayer. They're some law about if you make improvements to a property (that includes a car) for over a certain amount of time, the property is technically yours...no matter who's name it's in. That's why you don't ever let people farm your land while it's in your name without a written contract. They can take it after so long, because farming it is an improvement to unused land. If you've made mods to the car, put tires on it, a stereo...you've improved the car. Check into it.

 

Wow what a drag. Not only do you lose your car but with the divorce thing happening and all. I am an older guy that has a 91z 28 that my daughter drives and if I ever get divorced I sure wouldn't do that to her. I hope you get your car back, and even more I hope you patch up your relationship with your father.
The car can be replaced but your dad cant.

 

BTW Rocky, what is your liscense plate number?

I got my lawyer on his ***. Needless to say i have the car back, and its exactly the way it was when I left it. too bad it had too come to that but oh well he asked for it.:nono:
