*&@!#, not again

Hey guys, yesterday my t-5 crapped out on me again

Now I have to make a decision....
1) Rebuilt this POS t-5 again
2) Locate a t-56 and install that
3) burn the car to the ground

I was wondering if any of you guys know of a good deal on a 6 speed, the t-5 just doesnt seem to like my 350 at all.

You must just be having a sting of bad luck. I've seen plenty of T-5's handle a 350. How heavily modded is your car? It seems strange that she keeps chewing up tranny's.

You must be treating the trans like hell. I've got a T-5 behind my LT1 and its held up great.

I'll be selling my built 700R4 soon if ya want in on that? Sorry to hear about that tho man. You talk to Zimmstoy yet? He's got the hook ups in Austin. He might be able to find one for ya.

My guess is bad luck. I'm not overly mean to my car, and the motor is bone stock.

I've lost 1st,3rd,and 5th gears again. Last time had something to do with a bearing and the arm that changes those gears (or something i dunno). I'm guessing there is something else wrong with the tranny that caused it to happen the first time, and when I had it rebuilt he didnt fix the main problem, so now it did it again.

Thanks for the 700R4 offer, but i'd rather push my car around then go back to one of those.

I guess i'll PM Zimm tomorow after I hear from the guy who worked on my transmission. Someone gave me a link to http://hpsalvage.com/ to find a t-56, anyone had any experience with them?

I've dealt with HPsalvage, I picked up a 9bolt rear and an aluminum driveshaft from them. They don't have much in the way of 3rd gen stuff but it's a gold mine for 4th gen parts. Just make sure to call before you go out there.

Get one of these T-5s and put save money on getting the T56 kits and the T56.

http://www.g-forcetransmissions.com/tran_gt-5.asp

This will hold just about any 350.

ended up being the B&M shifter causing the problem

Its fixxed and running again.

As for saving for a t-56, I'll do that when the t-5 goes out for real. I've got better things to spend $1500 on.....like paint! :lala:

Did the T-5 Shifter Stop back itself in and not let you shift into gear?

the adjustment nutt on the front of the shifter housing backed off and fell into the bottom of the shifter, causing the shift lever to not go all the way forward....I shoulda known better too, cause I could hear a slight rattle coming from the shift area ever since I got my car back from the tranny shop
