HRP in the next few weeks

If anyone is interested in hitting up HRP with my brother and I in the next couple of weeks, let me know. We'll probably be out there for the at least one day each weekend for the next 3 weeks.

Nice. I've been wanting to run Larry ever since he did his latest round of mods. Maybe he'll chime in and say when he's headed out there.

Lets go this week or weekend. Ive been wanting to race for about two months with the rain and once the SEaly being closed. I know Fridya night is street night, I could take off work early and get out there early. Or Saturday afternoon would be ok too, Not sure what events are on there. I need to race 1/4 mile with this superram to see how it pulls at the top end. Friday night or Saturday afternoon, you name it.

Well the problem with this week is I don't get into Houston till 11 Friday night, and my brother and I are heading up to Dallas till Sunday night. However, next weekend is good. Friday the 11th works for me if you want to head out there. My brother and I are going to go ahead and go on Wednesday too and get some true bracket racing in and try our hand at that. Satruday nights are usually reserved for events, but Sunday evenings are also street nights. Why is Sealy closed?

OK, lets plan on next Friday the 11th. Sealy was closed a few weekends ago because they assumed it was going to rain all weekend and they had been rained out several weekends in a row before that. So they closed all weekend, then the weather was great, and we didn't know. So Barry and I and a Mustang 5.0 guy all stood around the gate gazing longinly at an empty track on a beautiful day.

I might go out there tomorrow in the day and get in some runs. IM still gettin used to launching with this higher stall converter.

Look forward to seeing you next week then

I have a Continental 2600 to 2800 stall. I got it and installed it with the TH350 Transmission. I have made about 4 passes with it so far. I need to bring the rpms up higher on the launch I think.

Well Yeah...if you have a 2800 stall speed, U should be sitting at 2800 minimum when the tree is counting down. That's the whloe idea of running a higher stall converter so u can get the engine up into the "power curve" at launch!

Well I hope it doesn't go right away but eventually I'll need a stronger rear end. Things like drag radials, ET Streets, Built TH350 transmissions, higher stall converters, eventually will gang up on the 10 bolt for sure. I guess those moser rearends are good, I think I saw one for about $1800. Yikes!

Yeah, I didn't think that is too much for a ten bolt! While ten bolts are not the best/strongest around I think they have gotten a bad wrap, and they are better than most people think!

Anybody know what usually let's go in them anyway? axles, carrier, what?

Phew, Larry I thought I wasn't going to be able to make it this weekend. Replaced my clutch slave cylinder yesterday because my clutch wasn't disengaging. Went for a drive and it still wasn't. Ended up replacing the master cylinder too. Clutch feels better than ever now. Still headed out there on Friday? Hopefully I'll have my SFC's in by then.

Man, I feel the pain.

You know that little connecting rod from the clutch master to the pedal.....yeah, well it broke. Pulling the booster and maneuvering through all the wires under my dash.....hope I never have to do it again.

Friday night sounds good to me. What time do you usually get there. Its going to take me probably 1 1/2 hours to get there with Friday night traffic and driving 60mph on the freeway (no overdrive).

Hey Zap and Barry, and anyone else for that matter, why don't you all come too. Im not going to be able to make the gathering since I just found out I have to go on a business trip for 2 weeks starting July 5th. Crap! This may be your last chance to race me, at least, for a while.

Take the beltway it may be a couple miles more but it a very easy cruise--get off at 225 over to 146 (north I think it is)

Or if U want, since I am just off the beltway, U/we could meet up over here at my house and then go out there, if your not sure of the route!

How about guys anybody else up for HRP Friday noight? Fbod--Sonar--ANYBODY?

Not unless you come to my house and take them off my car that is in the garage. Might be a little invconvenient. I still think you should just buy them. Id like to sell them so I can get the new rims for the back and get tires for those. I just cant justify buying the rims and tires now when I have perfectly good tires on there. Supposedly they last 5K to 8K miles and Ive put only maybe 2k miles on them.

Anyway, are you going to make it to the track on Friday. Should be fun. This will be the first time Ive run the full 1/4 mile. Not looking forward to that long drive over to HRP though

I'm there as well as my friend with a '95 Z with CC306 and ported heads. He wants me to drive it for him

Anyway, I'm gonna get out there about 7 probably, maybe 8 at the latest. Friday nights are usually pretty packed so I want to get some good runs in. Weather is supposed to be pretty good so that shouldn't be a concern.

Larry, beltway is definitely the way to go. And it is north on 146, you'll go quite a ways up 146 and you'll see a small roadsign that says Raceway Park.

See ya'll there.

Tristan

I think its pretty much just show up whenever, there are only a few of us going. Stop by if you see any of us in the pits. I've got a black '92 RS with silver 5 spokes.

well Im still going to make it unless something wierd happens. Ive been wanting to race every weekend for the last 3 months and something has happened each time. Ive got a red 91 formula with really nice shiny weld prostar rims on the front, and stock formula rims on the back. The car is bright red so there shouldn't be to many like that. I'll be lining up next to Tristan at least and we will see how close I can get to him. So its really crowded there on Friday? I guess it would be. Im used to SEaly where its really laid back. Well, I need to make some 1/4 mile runs and get som official 1/4 times. Im expecting low 13s based on my 1/8 mile times.

Sometimes its packed on Friday's, other nights I've driven around and made 6 passes in a row. Just be sure to wear jeans, they kick you off the track if you don't. Ask me how I know.
