HRP this Friday night--come get some!!!

It looks like a few third genners are going out to HRP this Fri night--June 11th--8 PM or so.

Even if your not running--come on out and watch!

If you are--COME GET SOME!!! I'm not skirrred!!!

I'll still make the same proposition as a few weeks ago. We run heads up--if U win--I'll pay for your concession stand run. If I win--You pay!

COME GET SOME!!! I'm not skirrred!!!

No gathering, I think we're all showing up at different times. Like I said in the other post, stop by in the pits, me and Larry will both be there, look for a black '92 RS and a black '95 Z28 near a red '91 Formula.

Just got back from Baytown. ****ty night for me. Got about an hour away from home and my clutch master cylinder started acting up, bled it at the track to no avail, had to slam it to get it into first. Drove all that way and only got one run in. Still managed a 13.6 @ 104 driving it off the line with zero launch. Pulled a TPI Vette in the process by about 1.5 lengths. Gonna get a NAPA master cylinder tomorrow and see if that will help.

I'll let Larry post how he ran.

Yup, it was black. Had the stock wheels on front and ZR1 17 x 11's on the rear. I ran a 13.6 so he probably ran about a 13.7-8

Yeah that vette wasn't much of a drag car. He has big rims and short tires, every time he hit the gas the tires just squealed.

This was my first time running the 1/4. First of all you have to have a helmet if you run less that 14 seconds. The timing slip lady say "you're gonna have to get a helmet or slow down" I borrowed Tristans helmet and made several more runs. We couldn't run each other due to that, plus he was having trouble with his car.

here are my first offical 1/4 mile times. Im sure everyone is just dying to analyze them,

60' 1/8 1/4 MPh
1.92 8.57 13.43 99.5
1.96 8.62 13.46 99.6
1.94 8.63 13.48 101.1

Pretty doggone consistent now that I look at them. This doesn't count one run where I accidentally started in 2nd gear and just let off about 1/2 way down.

I didn't get to race any cars that were close to me. First run alone, seoncd against a Mustang that looked pretty hot, but they took him out of the lane for tech or something, so alone again. Third against a slow picup where I let off and still won. Fourth agains a honda or something, never eve saw him after the start. It makes it more fun, exciting when you race against someone close to your car. Well maybe next time. IF SOME OF YOU ALL SHOW UP

I am pretty happy with the times. The 1/8 times are all right at the fastest I ever ran at Sealy, 8.56. That was in about 50 degree weather and this in close to 90 degree. The only difference between this and my last run at sealy in hot weather (8,8) was the PRostars in front with skinnies and my chip from Mike. I brought my old chip and was going to change, but I thought, why?
It seems like MIke's chip made a significant improvement over the Ed Wright fastchip I had in there.

ONly problem is ITS SO FAR. About 1 1/2 hours each way.
Need a trailer

So U gonna turn that thing into a "Trailer Queen?" If your gonna do that , then let's start stripping it of all unnecessary stuff.

So, were U leaving at a higher rpm (new 2800 stall converter if I remember right!) like we were talking about in another thread?

What air pressure in the Nittos are U ending up running?

Still want to borrow (No i don't want to buy them) your Nittos so I can spank Mikeee's butt at the gathering-- I'll come get them off the car before you leave town and I'll even do all the labor.

I know him from corvette forum. His best pass was a 14.1. with a -.043 redlight. It was his first time to race his car.

The Corvette was a nice looking car. I think he just needs some experience and a set of drag radials.

Im would like to have a trailer really, but I don't think I can afford it. It would allow me to keep the mileage down on the car, save on gas (it took 1 full tank to go over and back to Baytown, thats like $30 these days). Wouldn't have to worry about a $200 tow bill home if something goes at the track. I would keep the car streetable though so theres not to much stuff to pull of, AC maybe. Also I can only go about 60mph on the freeway because I don't want to go over 3000 rpm with the TH350. HOndas are zooming by me on I10. I could buy a giant pickup and cruise over there at 75 with the AC on, and the Rolling STones on the CD player, with the windows up,

Nice dream.
What does a reasonable trailer cost? 1500, 2500?

HRP (Houston Raceway Park), of course is located in Baytown, off 565 near 146. Its about twice as far from me as HMP (Houston Mostorsport Park), but its the only 1/4mile strip around. You would think with all the bucks on the westside someone would build a 1/4 mile strip over here.

Oh yeah, it costs $15 to get in and race on Friday Night Stree night, same as Sealy. Bring your helmet if you run faster than 14 seconds

Dang, little more expensive.

I'm down 288 in Angleton. Our shop is near downtown Angleton at 708 East Orange Street.

You're gonna need more than Nitto's ZAP!

Oh, and the pillow is a good idea. I could take a nap while I'm waiting for you to catch up to me at the finish line! lol

Tell ya what, if you beat me, I'll cut you a break on tuning your car. If I win, you have to pay for my track fee (the 15 or 20 bucks) that it costs for admission and to race.

Sound fair?
