The "I have an extra chromosome" squad at Competition Sales got the wrong dual line feed for my carb, so the right one will be in Tues. (I hope) I still plan on going Fri. or Sat. Just need to get behind the tree. I don't have a preferenceLT1, so anywhere is fine. Any day is OK, too. Let's see if anyone else wants to jump in. Rock? Zap? Mike? (LOL)

well, I would prefer 1/4 mile, so Baytown, but I'll race anywhere. Its about the same distance for me to any of the tracks, so whatever you want.

Make sure you take a helmet if you are going to Baytown. You have to have a helmet if you are running anything below 14 seconds. I think you may just squeak under that

Id be up for some racing again. Id actually like to race someone this time. It would make it a lot more fun. I know that clutch just went out on you Texas LT1, crap happens.

Im not sure IM up for the 1 1/2 hour trip each way out to Baytown for a second weekend in a row. It was a blast running the 1/4 mile though. Id probably go to Sealy this weekend thought. Whatever, if you guys want to run Baytown maybe Ill cruise over there in my Crown Victoria and watch.

Well, I think my brother and I are going to Baytown on Friday no matter what. I got my clutch fixed and he just finished painting his car and we want to try and get some good video of them running.

Depends on whether I get through installing the Hi-rise OEM spoiler in time. Taking a lot longer than I expected, but sure looks good!

Not unless U can make the paint dry faster in all this rainy weather. Ready to put it all back together, just waiting for paint to dry so I can clear coat it, on the flat body piece that bolts to rear window that the spoiler bolts to. Already had it all sitting there --and everything fit good, I even got the mounting holes located and drilled in the right place!!!

Considering this is my first real attempt at any real body work (filling in the holes with Bondo from the old original rear spoiler) it is turning out pretty good. Had to go back and re do a couple things- but I'm learning!

This weather pretty much sucks for anything.....even turning a wrench! Yeah, I know what you mean. Putting those locking hood pins on was a PITA!, But, amazingly enough, they look good, and I didn't screw anything up, like the hood.

There's no way I can make Fri. night. Won't be through installing the new spoiler by then. Can't run with the rear hatch just flapping around!

Oh Yeah--IF YOU'RE RUNNING FASTER THAN 14.0 BE SURE AND HAVE A HELMET OR THEY WON'T LET U RUN!!!

I got this one at Martel Brothers performance shop in Katy. $99, its a Gforce open face one. Snell M2000 which is apparently good enough until you get to like 10s or 9s or something, then you need a Snell Sa90 rated one. Like Zap says tho, you can probably get similar ones at just about any moto shop.

My Daughter is an artist so Im going to get her to paint a skull with two checkered flags crossed on it, should be fun, or unique at least. At least Im gettting something for all that U of H art classes that I paid for,

Im still not convinced im going to HRP tomorrow night. Im taking off work tomorrow to completely clean out the garage to sell the house. I may be to tired to go. I know im a P**sy, but Ive got to get this house sold.

Maybe I can get my daughter to do a TGO desing or something on the helmet. That would be cool

How'd U manage that?

Gotta quit using vise grips when removing the lugnuts!

Craftsman/Sears is now selling these widgets to use on stripped nuts and bolt heads! Sounds like U need some!

I'll probably get out there about 6:30 - 7. Don't really want to stand around or run while its still hot. And we'll have a second video camera there as well, my mom and dad are going and they will have our big ***/old *** VHS camera.

Tonight....it ain't right
I got to have me a week (or at least a day)
But I'll be back for you, Jack
And I'll let the machine speak. (ZZ Top)

I seriously hate to not show after starting this, but I really haven't had the time to work on the car. And since the timing is involved, it's gotta be right! Sat or Sun?

On a few occassions I have went to the next smaller size socket and hammered it to the back of the nut then it was easily removed. Copied that move from the guys at Discount tire.

HEHE thats where I went tonight. As I was going down the beltway, I could see lightning in the distance and figured it would suck to drive the hour to Baytown and get rained out. So I turned on to lockwood and went to HMP instead. I did GOOD I know the car will do solid 13's now. kinda glad I didnt go to HRP, I would have been done in 1 pass!

Im catching up Larry!!

Yeah I worked my butt off all day at my house preparing it for an open house tomorrow, almost croaked in the heat. I was too beat to drive over there. Plus I though it might rain, didn't rain here in Katy though.

Good times, need to work on that 60' time and you'll be right in there. I might cruise out to Sealy tomorrow night just for the heck of it, practice launching and get a few comparative times on the track there.

HOpefully one of these days we can all get togehter at a track. I cant make the gathering, I will be in South AMerica on Business. rats!

Finally got the timing sorted out. For some reason, this motor HATES anything but 13 degrees of timing. OK, I might be able to go to 14, but at 15, it loses power, and at 10, it starts to run hotter, and backfires. But at 13, it's fine, the high-maintenance b*tch. (just kidding)

Hey, Rock. If you want to drive out, I can get those nuts off, and we can put new studs in. (I hope they're on the rear). PM me.

Never, never put lug nuts on with an impact. Been there. Done that. (on the wife's car) A good rule of thumb is that everyone can tell you everything they know, but you only REALLY learn if you f*ck it up yourself. Since you have to re-do someone else's screw-up, that qualifies.

You bunch of freakin girls, I think you all just wanted to make up excuses of why you didn't want to drive to Baytown It was NOT rained out. My brother and I went out there and I ran a best of 12.9 at 108, it was real humid, everyone was running slow. But I did beat my brother. Although it turns out he was running on only 7 cylinders. We're going back tonight with a working video camera.
