Charity Event Ideas
Hey Fellow Third-Genners, thought I'd pass on some info about how some of our folks have been helping support some charity events in the North Texas area, plus asking for ideas others have done successfully.....
The North Texas Third Gen Association (http://www.NTTGA.net) recently helped the Texas Motor Speedway (http://www.texasmotorspeedway.com) raise a total of $14,000 after expenses for the TMS Children's Charities. NTTGA spent about 5 hours at TMS on August 14th talking to other 3rd-Genners, met some new folks and introduced them to our club, helped raise $14K for the kids, and even got to make a few 80MPH+ laps around the TMS speedway driving our own cars in the process. This was the second one of the TMS charity events NTTGA was part of this year, and we're looking at other ideas to help out a little bit for some of those less fortunate than ourselves as well (like a women's shelter or some other relief foundation/group).
Just wanted to pass on how some of us are helping others (and in this case had some fun as well). With a minimal expense and effort, anyone can help out some others in need.
We're also on the lookout for ideas from other groups on things they have done that we might be able to try out some variation of as well.
Have a Great Day!

That sounds like it was a whole lotta fun. I've been thinking that a charity event may be the way to go for a big car show/concert I was thinking about helping put together.
If you put together be sure and let us non-NTTGA guys know. Dunno about the H-Town peps, but I'd prob be willin' to take a trek to DFW for the right cause...
