TexasLT1 - you know I had to pass some crap back your way!

I predict TexasLT-1 to have the fastest ET (unless I get my pile together before then)!

I'm tryin' guys, but people are poor these days.....($579.00 plus shipping for SPEC stage 3 disc/pressure plate/TO bearing still needed). SPEC promised up and down that it will hold it. Mcleod told me my current setup from Mcleod is only good for 425 ft. lbs. at flywheel (not enough clamping force from pressure plate).

Larry - congrats on the new gal, I bet she's a hottie!

SCORE!

I know, I was just giving you **** too. I've heard very good things about Spec clutches, its what I plan on running when I swap over to T-56. Can't go wrong with them. I'd definitely like to run you though if you can get the clutch in, should be a good race.

OK--sounds good--Your in charge!

Even if we can't do a "public" thing we could take up a collection and or donate clothing--whatever we do needs to be quick--THEY NEED HELP NOW!!! Not in 3 months!

Even if it's nothing more than heading up a thread dedicated to this--figure out a charity to donate to--send money to 20N!N or whatever.

In my opinion anything is fair in love, war, and drag racing. If someone wants to install a supercharge, turbo, or nitrous on their thirdgen, hell, its still a thirdgen. Hardly any of our cars are stock anymore. Now if you are going to do some professional or semi professional racing you might be limited by certain class restrictions, but heck, Id like to see how fast your car could go with nitrous, even if Im looking at its taillights from the other lane.

Ive actually considered nitrous for my car but I need to beef up the motor and the rear end first.

Crag, you need to upgrade that Apple II computer to something a little newer

cool, well i already had the gas on the car just didnt know f anyone else had gas. i havent sprayed this motor since it got refreshed but it ran good before the refresh so i will be trying it. im just gonna run some bfg dr's which is what i have always ran on my thirdgen, the best 60 ft ive ever been able to hit on dr's in my camaro is 1.70 but that was with a 3.73. so i should be a bit slower with 3.23's but the 3.23's will probably like the gas better. the 3.73's were a pain in the *** with the th-350 and ran out of gear on a 26 inch tire. so hopefully i should be able to make it to the end of the 1/8th in second, we will see.

The Apple II was really the first Personal Computer. It was made by two guys Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak in their garage somehwhere in the San Fransisco Bay area. I bought one in about 1984. It had 64K RAM, and no hard drive or even floppy drive. You used a casette tape to store data on. It cost about $2000. My watch today has way more computer power than that thing did. Times change. Just a little joke

I like Dilbert joke about their boss being computer illiterate. They tell him to reboot it you have to turn it upside down and shake it (turns out its an etch a sketch),

Anyway, really, I think you need the latest version of realplayer to be able to view some of these links

How about Houston Thirdgen Gathering. There will be several of us cruising in from Austin, and others from out of town. I wouldn't want a 'Quickest ET' plaque with Houston Thirdgen Club on it, since I'm ont in H-Town.

Well, since engraving is charged by the letter and/or the amount of artwork, I would think we would want to keep it to a minamum.

spring fling thing

how is it going. i am from the san antonio fbody. we have a couple of guys with third gens; but the majority of us own 4th gen lt1's and ls1's. i used to own a third gen 91 z28. man i miss my baby. thanks to some idiot, he totalled it. insurance gave me cash and luckily my dad sold me his fourth gen for 5ooo. now i own a clean 4th gen with 40 thousand miles and a few mods.

my point is that we would like to come down but i noticed it mostly is for third gens. it would be cool if we could represent just fbodies. we love firebirds and camaros more than we love our women. ok some. for me i love my car.

let me know.

Thanks for the tip Pasky! Yea, that price I got was from SPEC.

TexasLT-1 - Heck yea I'll run ya if I have a clutch by then. I think it would be a good race too.

Eventually I'll have a power adder thirdgen, but I needs a 12 bolt before the blower.

Mike - yeah I hear you about the power adders, thats the main thing keeping me from doing anything more is pretty much everything from the trans back. All stock on 320 rwhp is just asking for trouble. One of these days...

Heck yeah, scope for a black dash pad for a Camaro that isn't cracked, lol. I need a good mold, I'm thinking of making a carbon fiber dash Either that or Fiberglass...hopefully carbon.

Of course you are welcome! Even though it is being hosted by The Houston Area Thirdgen.org- and thirdgens are being targeted as the main draw (so to speak) It's a "family reunion" and we welcome any and all regardless of what year, ESPECIALLY IF SOMEBODY IS WILLING TO DRIVE FROM OUT OF TOWN!!!
:hail:

We have been talking of trying to put together a Statewide meet for as long as I can remember--if having cars other than thirdgens is what it takes to make it happen--then WAY COOL!!! Nothing could make us happier than if this could turn into an annual event! If we start getting enough cars in other gen groups then we will expand the awards to include everybody. This thing could grow to unexpected perportions in the future, (that's a GOOD thing) and if it does then we will deal with it.

if its not too late, a good airdam for a camaro, mines all warped and looks bad. I'd like one that's straight, but I'll probably just have to get a new one.

Yeah I think I posted a thread a few months back about trying to organize a Texas-Wide Thirdgen Gathering. Or just a Texas-Wide F-Body Gathering. I've been thinking about this for a while now. I would think that Lake Somerville would be a perfect place to cruise to. There's a big-*** parking lot..could fit 40-50 cars. It's right next to the lake too. Maybe someone could make a new thread about it, so we don't clutter up this one.
BTW, Zap what's your paypal account name?

I'm going to start a seperate thread for the donations.

For donations for the trophy/awards fund for the SFT U have 4 choices:

PAYPAL accounts:
If U are not familar with Paypal--go to web site and it will walk U thru signing up for an account, and how to send money.

1. zap1@ev1.net -USE ONLY IF U HAVE/WANT TO USE YOUR CREDIT CARD--this account is set up for my business, so my customers can use CC's--this one charges a fee of 2.9% +.30 per transaction

2. suemr@ev1.net --this account does NOT charge a fee--use it for payment with your funding source other than a credit card.

3. Mail a check or whatever to: MAKE CHECK PAYABLE TO: Craig Landry

Craig Landry
5910 Dryad
Hou. Tx. 77035

4. Track me down somewhere and hand it to me--Just make sure I remember to post your donation, so U receive credit for donating.

Please remember we need to have all this done by first of March. We need to allow ample time to get the awards done, and I don't want it to be a last minute scramble.

Craig

it was just a suggestion, slicks , dump it at 4k out of the hole on a 150 shot the whole way, someone behind you would probably get hit by a 10 bolt pinion flying out though

Nope. I've run at a few 1/4's and the way I see it, why settle for less? . Im just playin with most of you guys. Yes i'd rather go to a 1/4, but im still down for a 1/8. I think me and Texas plan to head to a 1/4 on a different occasion so im not worried.

You know to be real honest, i used to think the same as U--that 1/8 mile was for wimps and wannabes--but after running the 1/8, my opinion has changed, and I have a new found respect for an 1/8 mile strip. It's exactly the same except I'm in 3rd gear for only about a second instead of 4 1/2 seconds. Same rush!!! Try it U might like it!

One of the things I do like about an 1/8 is that if the guy your racinghas a faster car, messes up on the line, he doesn't have the extra 1/8 mile to let his car make up for his bad start. (Ask Mikeee about that! )

Thats my problem also. See I won't even see a 3rd gear most likely because I shift so high. Either i'll go past the 1/8 mark at the top of 2nd or at the very bottom of third. I make power up top, won't be as exciting for me. But i'll give it a whirl. Im not saying its for wannabe's or wimps, it just don't seem as much fun to me. Nothing wrong with the 1/8.
