storing the Z
Hi all. I am sad to report that the time has come to store the car.
With the gas prices sky-rocketing, maintanence, registration, inspections, and no a/c, it's hard to find the resources to keep her on the road (daily driver). Does anybody have any good tips to keep the car in storage?
While the car is down, I will probably do the sanding and primer in preparation of paint. I am still trying to figure out if the sanding and primer is a DIY job (maybe even painting).

Do some searches both on the 3G board as well as Google about automobile storagej and I'm sure U can find some good info
1. Stabil in the gas tank
2. 0n blocks if possible
3. covers over as much of the car as possible
and much more depending on how much trouble U want to go to.

well personally from alot of my buddies experience ....storing a car usually means selling it after a while since it cost money to store if you rent a storage and stuff comes up in life where you gotta have more space or just need money or alot of other that makes it seem so tempting to sell your pride and joy.
My buddy who i took to one of our gatherings had a 62 Chevy nova in storage for a while always workin on it looked nice and had draglites ..but one day he ended up sellin it cheap cause he didnt have time or funds to work on it like he wanted. I hope you dont ever get in this situation Hitman

well
The car will be stored in my parents garage and hopefully it is only until February. I will most likely keep her on jack stands, this way I can take off the wheels and try my hand at polishing them.
Who knows, if I start to have withdrawal symptoms, I may have to climb back behind the wheel

Hi Hitman,
I have one car in storage at the moment,a 1950 Belair. There is so much I want to do with the car but can't as I have no where to work on her.Saddens me everytime I go over to check her out. I just have the car stored in an RV storage.Cost $25 a month. I know by the time I get round to doing any work on her it will be a full frame off restoration. But I'm determined not to sell her.

My 82 is sitting in the garage next to the 91!!!! The 82 was my first car and I will never ever sell that car unless its the last thing I have and need to sell it to live *will still be a hard decision*
It needs a motor and many other things, but its my baby and I plan on having her to pass on to my kid/kids in the future!
Good luck with your temporary storage!
edit: sorry its so big!!!! how do you make pictures smaller on here? is it [img width= height=]???
