BENEFIT RACE @ REDLINE - please read...
Misty, at RedLine emailed this to me after I'd received the newsletter:
She (Claudette) was driving a ford mustang with NOS. The car had a roll cage and a five point harness.
She somehow lost control of the vehicle and hit the right guardrail with the front end and then flipped about five times. For whatever reason she was ejected from the vehicle and her helmet came off as well.
She landed on the track.
She has swelling on her brain but nothing extremely damaging. She broke every rib, her shoulder and collar bone, dislocated and cracked her pelvic girdle on the part where her leg connects, and multiple fractures in her face.
Yesterday she went to surgery for her face and hip. Her prognosis is good at this point but she will have some long term physical therapy ahead of you.
I am not sure why she was ejected but this is precisely why your safety equipment should be taken care of before the motor!
You just never know. She is doing much better than I had expected when she left with care-flight. I am just happy that she is going to recover.
Have a great week and please keep her in your prayers.
