Uh oh!
My list of things to do to get ready keeps getting longer and time is getting short.
I may have to skip Thanksgiving and work on my car instead!

Torque arm is ON! Just have to set pinion angle now, gonna wait for daylight. This should not have been a big job, but the car apparently had an "off-road experience" before I got it. Things did not want to line up right on the tranny cross member, so I had to deviate from the instructions a bit for the install. No complaint on the instructions nor the product, it looks first-rate. It all just took a little persuasion, and a LOT more time than I planned.

Well, the weather forecast SUCKS!!! But , we all know how Hou weather can be. There's nothing we can do about it, so we continue as planned. Even if it does rain, it may be just be a passing shower.
See rain date info in link below.

Ad much turkey as I'll probably eat, I'm gonna slow down a tenth from the extra weight.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Everybody have a good safe one and we will see U at the track Fri night (if it not rained out.) By the way, the HRP officials will have to call it a rain out or not--NOT ME!
I've got good rain tires--if they will let me make a pass while it's raining (yeah right), I want to see how much slower it is than regular!!!

So if HRP calls it a rain-out. How will we find out?
The christmas tree on their homepage indicates track status. Used to be reliable, probably not anymore. Everyone hope the weather holds!

If it rains tomorrow and the track closes, I have made backup plans to go to the autorama at the george r brown convention center. If anyone plans to go to the autorama I believe it is $16 general admission.

We will start the elimination ladder around 8 pm.
Just look around the pit area and find where we are all pitted together.

Try pulling #1 plug--tdc--see where timing mark on balancer is? and double check that both valves on #1 are closed--closed for correct amount of time in rotation?
Even that can mess with U cause timing ring on balancer can slip--it did on my L98.
What did U do to engine since last time it was running correctly?

no timing tape on my balancer. LT1's don't have them because there is nothing mechanical you can do to change the timing besides an adjustable timing set, its all computer controlled.
Basically it just runs like total crap. Doesn't idle smoothly at all(may just be the big cam). Has no power. Wants to die at intersections, only pulls 8" of vacuum, runs excessively rich, blah blah blah. At first I thought it might be an intake gasket problem, but replacing them made no change so I'm pulling the Opti and timing cover off to check down there.
I'm hoping its something simple like the Opti isn't possitioned correctly or the timing chain is a tooth off, but we'll see in a couple of hours.

well - track was fun guys. I ran a best of 14.94 @ 92 mph
The weather today is looking less than great for this gathering though. I'm thinking I'd be better off going Christmas shopping
