Angleton Dragway open tomorrow for FREE

It would be a bit of a drive for you northerners, but Angleton Dragway is reopening tomorrow. Here is the info from their website,

Free Day for Test and Tune is March 4th, with gates opening at 10:00am Staging Lane open at 11:00 and we will close Lanes at 7:00 PM. This will give us a chance to get to play at the track and work any bugs out prior to actual race days. Schedule forthcoming. We already have the Texas ProStock's scheduled for 3 races this year. Hope you will come join us.
The track is located on FM 2004 approx. 2 miles east of FM 523. Directions from Houston would be:

South on Highway 288 to FM 523 north of Angleton
Turn East on FM 523 and continue to FM 2004.
Turn East on FM 2004, go about 2 miles, track is on the left. Can't miss it.

its actually www.angletonraceway.com but there isn't much there right now. The track has changed hands a couple of times and this is the first time its reopened in months.

Thanks for that. They must have changed names, the search results for "angleton dragway" all look valid, but a closer look indicates 2004 as the last update.

Are you going?

Yeah I'm heading out there at least to watch here in a bit. Not sure if I'll run or not. Would like to but don't know of the rear end is up for it. On the plus side the track was stripped so they're laying down new rubber today, may not hook anyway.

I rode out there and stayed about an hour. There were lots of cars running and more pulling in when I left around 1:00.

I ended up not going. Washed my car, cleaned it up after doing some work on it all weekend, leave to go change to head out there and it dies again. towed it back to the shop and left it. said screw it. heard from a friend of mine that it was real slick, just need to get some rubber down on it. hopefully they'll stay open this time, the track is only 5 minutes from my house.

TexasLT1,

Was that a shooting range pointed in the direction of the race track? No kidding! That might explain some of the traction issues.

you know, I drove by there and saw that, and I wasn't too sure. I think its a shotgun clay pigeon range. in which case they're fine. kind of threw me off when I first saw it.
