lifters

hi i have a bad lifter in cylinder 5 I am afraid to take it in by my self if any one in Houston can help me out I would really appreciate it and I know labor is not free so or if yall know I good shop where i can get the lifters done for under 400 let me know please if there is some where I can get the lifters done for under 400 and in a few hours on Friday morning I will not need to be back on the road till 4 ish or this Tuesday and have it done before 5.

Did U get this taken care of yet?

How do U know it's a bad lifter? What are the symptoms? If it'a a tapping, the first thing i would do is pull the valve covr and see what's up inder there and adjust the rocker arms.

There are several "shade tree mechanic" things U can do that might fix the problem, but we need more info!!!

Transmission: Specially-Built Exner TH350
Axle/Gears: 3.73
Pull the intake and valve covers. Remove all of the pushrods. Remove all of the lifters. Replace the lifters with new ones. Soak the new ones in oil for about a day. Do a search for setting the lash. Done.
