Official Annual Fall Memorial / Re-union Gathering - post here!!
Well, like I've said before.... The best turnout we ever had was only a meet/BB-Q at Bear Creek Park in Katy. We have about 34 cars there believe it or not!
That is what I'm shooting for this December, just the biggest turnout we've ever had. I hope we can all make it one to remember!
We don't need any throphies or awards. We just "ALL" need to meet up maybe have a pot luck BB-Q (hot dogs etc..) to not only meet up with old friends and meet new members, but also to remember a good friend whom we all lost recently. I know Craig will be there with us in spirit.
So...
In not so many words, this is my suggestion:
Where: Bear Creek Park, in Katy, TX
Date and Time: Saturday - December 15th, 2007 @ 3:00 pm till dark, BB-Q will start at 5:00 pm.
What to bring: yourself, your car, and maybe a little something for the BB-Q (which will be in a seperate thread).
I will do my best to bring as many members and other thirdgen owners who are not members, to the show.
Thoughts and input please.....
Thanks,
Mike (1bad91Z)

What do you guys / gals think about the date/time etc.. of this event?
The sooner we finalize a date / time , the sooner we can further plan the gathering.

I will try and get as many members from San Antonio to attend. 34 is a good number, with that they should be interested. I know we could bring a big number of cars out there.

I'll be bringing at least 3 - 6 cars with me. If other members want to meet up with me in the Tomball area, you all can follow me to the gathering.

This sounds like a good idea. I can try to get off work two hours early and come at 4:00 pm. I hope that i can get my bird running by that time. Any idea on good machine shops in College Station area?(or good mechanics that can adjust rockers or lifters)

Re: Official Annual Fall Memorial / Re-union Gathering - post here!!
I'm so bored today. I've been waiting for a phone call to pick up a 82-84 Firebird 305H.O. running car for FREE. I know he's going to give it to me but man is he stretching this out. Hopefully he answers his phone tommorow. I've been checking the boards literally every 30min-1hr...that's how bored I am.
For those who aren't sure if their ride will be ready by then. Come out anyway. Good to meet up with other thirdgen owners.

Re: Official Annual Fall Memorial / Re-union Gathering - post here!!
Does anyone have any preference as to where in Bear Creek part we should do this? I think we used Pavilion #1 last time I was there.
I expect we can reserve a pavilion so that we will be prepared, rain or shine.
Here is a map of the park:
http://www.pct3.hctx.net/PBearCreek/Layout.pdf
General information is here:
http://www.pct3.hctx.net/PBearCreek/
BTW, "Consumption of alcoholic beverages is allowed only under special conditions." But we have to call to find out what those are. I'll do that and reserve the pavillion, once a date and pavillion are decided.

I wouldn't miss it for the world!
Chances are that I will bring Aaron with me too.
By the way, has anyone gotten a hold of Sue? I sure hope she can make it also.

At a minimum I'll have my son with me so add 1 there if your looking for a head count versus a car count.

I have a good feeling that we will have a decent turnout this year. My girlfriend has a decent digital camera, so there will be tons of pics.

Re: Official Annual Fall Memorial / Re-union Gathering - post here!!
Good, i'd like to see lots and lots of pictures, and maybe some videos as well.
How about some sort of entertainment for the rest of the family? Only entertaining thing for my girl would be watching me get so excited over all the cars. Maybe we can reserve a table for all the wifes/girlfriends to sit so they can mock and hate on how we are with the cars. It's what they always do when they get together. Entertaining for them I guess??

There have been a lot of replies and no compains/other suggestions for the location or date, so I suggest that we declare it settled as indicated in the first post.

ESC - please reserve pavilion # 1 at bear creek park for us on Dec. 15th
As far as the women are concerned..... there are tables under the covered pavilion for them for chat in the shade.
KEEP IN MIND - if by some chance we get bad weather on the 15th, the rain date will be the following Saturday which I believe is the 22nd.

Re: Official Annual Fall Memorial / Re-union Gathering - post here!!
I temporarily reserved Pavilion #1 until Monday, by which time I will have to have put up a $125.00 deposit. The deposit will be refunded after the meet, assuming no damages are done and no cleanup is required.
If you want to donate to the cause (donations will be refunded when the deposit is refunded) you can PayPal
bid @ methware.com
I asked about alcohol, you have to reserve a pavilion and hire a police officer. So unless anyone here happens to be a cop and wants to volunteer, that's out.

Re: Official Annual Fall Memorial / Re-union Gathering - post here!!
Well, let's just skip the alcohol to make things easier on us...
What happens if we skip the deposit and just show up and park in front of whatever pavilion is available?
If we do that, then all of our Thirdgen guys / gals could pull into the park and just park where we find a spot.
Or,
Do you think we need to reserve one?

That's good that she may be there. I never did meet him but he answered many questions for us SA guys. I imagine the car has been sitting since he passed away. I hope she doesn't sell it or anything. I'll put some money down for a deposit.
No alcohol is fine with me. I already know i'll just have 1 beer, or 2 or 3 or 4+...

Man, I have not been on in a while and all of the sudden Craig has passed on and we are having a meet in his honor. This is heavy stuff. He was a great guy and he will be missed. I am going to try to get my ride going just so I can make it to this thing. I am swapping in the tranny within the next two weekends and I will have it wired and running in a month or so. The only prob. I think I will run into is getting her inspected. I am marking the date on my calendar now.

For those of us who are comming in from San Antonio, this will not only be for Craig...but one of our own here in SA. Saturday night(Sept. 15th) our good friend Daniel Fortuna passed away. Both of them will be remembered as great people.

Sorry to hear about another loss, my condolences.
Message to all -
Let's bring as many fellow thirdgenner's as we can (members or not) and try to make this gathering one for the record books. Weather permitting, this "should" be one heck of a show!
To all coming out and especially to those coming from long distances, please be careful and drive responsibly.
I can't wait to see you all there.

I will definitely be there. I think the time and the place and the simple no trophies and memorial theme is perfect. I would be up for some racing too, especially at Sealy (Daniel might want a rematch and a chance to finally beat me!!). I will get my son Max to come by at least for a bit. He still has teh 90 Firebird. He is away to university now at UTSA but should be home for Christmas vacation by then. It'l be great to see everyone again. It will be a bit strange without Craig though.

Does anyone know how to get ahold of Darrel (406-Z) and Fatal88 ?
If so, please contact them and tell them the date and time of the gathering and hopefully they will attend. They have some of the nicest thirdgen's arround!
