gettin rid of my maro

well guys, it has come down to this. I put the car up on craigs list...and I just got scammers.
Selling the camaro is/was not my idea. My daughter was just born july 16th. and her mother brought up the fact that she "my daughter" cant be riding around in the maro with no a/c.
So inorder to get a new car, I gotta get rid of this one.
1986 Camaro Z28
305
the only modification done to it are a set of headers, and a custom Y pipe.
The car is primer, has a little bit of surface rust, which I thougth i took care of when i bought it... Noob me.
I just had the Heads Re-done (valve job) and the 700R4 just got re-built about 2k miles ago.
The motor alltogether, I was told when i got it had 150k on it. and I havent had problems with it at all for the 8 or so months I've owned it.
IT DOES NOT HAVE A CAT ON IT. So it wont pass emissions. Unless you know a guy.
I'm wanting 2k for it. But i will look at OBO's, seeing as how i need $ for a downpayment on a new car. but by no chance will I be low-balled.
I will try to get some pics up soon, But I work the night shift, and i sleep all day. so i usually dont have much time too do much. but i will try if they are requested.

Why not just add AC? Wouldn't be a big chore. Was the car original with AC? Or would you need the evap, condensor, etc.? Even then, adding AC shouldn't be a big job.

a/c would cost around 1600. I cant fit the baby seat in the back seat. The cars MPG is killing me. I'm giving it a week before it goes on Ebay.

Wow bro, i got a guy with a Kia, 2000 model i think, it is white with a 5 speed, i dont know what you are looking for but it is a idea, i will give you his # if you wanna talk to him, he might trade. Humble/Kingwood area. Hell, i have too many cars to wanna get rid of them, i got a truck too. I have my first born on the way now and the wife and i decided a while back there is no way we will sacrifice a f body for a "other" ride due to a child. That is what the extended cab is for.

LMK,

Zane

lol, I wish i was as well off as you, but sadly, im not made of money, as most ppl are. I just wanna get rid of it. I love it, and I had a 4 bolt 350 layin in the garage for awhile, but once my daughter was born, it all went out the window.i just sold it for 50 bucks, 50 bucks man...that was like gas for 3 days in the camaro.. My girlfriend and i have picked out a nice 08 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS, so, i just gotta get rid of the maro first.
----------
BTW, iw ant 1500 for it, No LOWER. Thats what i paid for it, and thats before i put 1200 into it. goes on ebay on monday with 2k reserve

Re: gettin rid of my maro

Well, if it came down to feeding mouths it would be different, but as i said, we have other transportation. My truck is a work horse. If it came down to needing somthing better, i would just buy it. There is nothing wrong with having a bunch of cars. I came up having nothing, now i have 5 vehicles and m y own house. I dont know any other 24 year olds that can say the same, unless mommy and daddy gave it to them. I only make 30k a year too

He didn't say he would chose a car over a child, what he said was he would not sell a car just because his wife is expecting. I have known Zane a little while and he is one of the few "True" 3rd gen enthusiasts that really apreciates these cars. Now, I have had my camaro 10 years since i was a senior in high school. If my wife were to get pregnant i sure as hell would not sell my camaro, if it came down to money i would just get a 2nd job. Now Stephen I don't know you so please dont take offense, I just dont appreciate when people twist other's words to make statements sound worse than what was really said. Like Zane said, he is 24 and married with 5 vehicles and a house. I believe he has his act together better than most people twice his age. Sorry for the rant

Re: gettin rid of my maro

Had a 90 RS...had a newborn.

Car seats don't fit well in the back, nor did my 5'10" wife, so the car seat wasn't going up front. Easier to replace the car, than get a second job, and take time away from my family. "Daddy makes lots of money, but he's never home..."

Money isn't everything.

I can totally understand & respect your view on the subject & could have a long discussion about it but i don't want to hijack this tread so i will just repsond with a"Good luck on the sale and congrats on the child".
