$1200 Trickflow VS. 5¢ Machine Screw
$1200 Trickflow VS. 5¢ Machine Screw

Yeah this blows... Some one sabotaged my friends engine and he claims the heads are a total loss... I bought them off him to make the guy feel less of a loss.
Either way I need some one in the DFW/Texas area who knows a good machine shop to fix this.
I have had two quotes so far... one said $250 to fix the chamber... the other said $500 for the chamber and full valve job...
I can't really afford either but if I can get the chamber fixed and both heads resurfaced I might be able to justify $300 max...
Any recommendations?

Man, just shop around as you can, use a performance shop if possible, they usually have better experience with theese things.

If they are aluminum (looks like it), no such thing as a TOTAL loss. It's just a question of...How much welding with it take to refill the crack, then how much will the machining cost, to make them usable again?
Not the original cost of $1200, that's for sure.
