Carbed+v8+MSD6AL - tach reads exactly 2x

Carbed+v8+MSD6AL - tach reads exactly 2x

I have read and looked for a 'tach filter' in my factory tach wiring and found none. I have spliced a wire from the MSD6AL tach outlet to the factory tach wire that went to the factory distributor. The tach was working fine with the Accel distributor before i installed the MSD6AL. With the MSD the tach reads exactly double the actual rpm.

Has anyone run into this problem and can share a solution?

EDIT: it appears i need a tach adapter.
