New in Arkansas

Hey all! I'm Sarah and new to the forum. While I haven't had a third gen in years, I just bought my first new Camaro ('11 RS, Imperial Metallic Blue) and am beyond excited about it. Wondering if there is anyone around that might want to meet up at the road course over in Hallett, OK or possibly a drag strip-- just have some fun. I know there's an NWA F-Body Association but it's not too active so I figured I'd see who else is out there.

Good grief--no activity here? I like going to the American Iron series at Eagle's Canyon NW of Ft. Worth, have wanted to go to Hallett for a few years, did a two-day cruise of the Ozarks in your area last fall. My poor old car isn't new and pretty but it's definitely a traveler, handles like it's on rails. I might meet you up at Hallett.

Re: New in Arkansas

I bet that was a sweet ride. So do you plan on driving your 5th gen at the track or road course?

Re: New in Arkansas

It was a fun car, but started having some serious issues. It was just a toy; sold it for what I paid for it.

I have drag raced the 5th gen a few times and am in the low 14s bone stock except for the CAI. After I put the exhaust and headers on, I'm going to have it dyno'd, maybe look at a tune-- not sure yet-- and then leave it be till I'm out of the powertrain warranty... by that time I'll be investigating 6th gens and turning my 2011 into a weekend fun car (boost? different engine? Turbos? The possibilities are endless ) I definitely want to run her out on the road course-- hoping to do so next Spring when I have time to do all the stuff they make you do before you can drive out there!

I've modified the 5th gen appearance-wise a LOT; got probably $2k in mods on her right now, so I'm trying to ease up a bit and save some money for a while!
