New 3rd Gen Owner in central texas!

Hey dudes (and gals...maybe? hopefully?!) Just picked up my first 3rd Gen...I'm NOT new to cars or SBC's by any means, but I got a pretty good deal on a 3rd gen and have been wanting another SBC to play with (I've actually built many but ironically never owned a car with a carb'd small block...) so I'm definitely lookin to have some fun with this guy. I've always been a Pontiac guy...and lucked out on this T/A.

'83 with a 350 and T5 trans (not a big fan of the T5 but it's SO much lighter than a T56)
Pretty recent paint job on it too...

Oh and I live in Temple, TX! Going to be Round Rock bound before summer time

I'd have said put a filter in it, but those things are notorious for flaming out from the smallest backfire, so an open carb is actually better in your case!

Check us "local" guys out over at http://www.austinthirdgen.org/forum/index.php?

And while the T5 might be lighter than a T56, it is also a lot weaker.
