GMan 3MT (GARY) is the man to ask about local road racing. He runs in the CMC series. They don't run at that track but they do run at MSR Houston. Its a little further SW from the track you posted. Check out this site, it might help answer your questions. http://www.aicmctexas.com/main/forum.php

Here is what one of the series competitors had to say about GSS:

"Went to the DE/TT only event there yesterday. This was my first time at this little track, and I was really surprised! Its a great place to practice driving and for doing car setup testing. Its smoother than most Tx tracks, but not slick like Cresson. Its short (probably 1.08 or so CMC times) so you get to do the turns more often for a given amount of track time. Its got a couple of hairpins, a mid speed sweeper, a mid speed normal 90deg turn, and a set of fast transition esses. In other words, just about all you need to experiment with car setup. The facilities are sparse: one building thats rather small for a classroom, and a couple of portapotties. The parking lot is a little rough and has gravel sprinkled all around, but its huge. The track is too narrow for real racing, but I think its perfect for comp schools."

Hope that helps somewhat, Chris

Re: Anybody been here for some roadracing?

A while back i was thinking of putting together a low budget
Destroked ls with t56 in a 3rd gen for a basic road racer.
6.0 block with 4.8 crank. 243 heads and ls6 intake. Simple and cheap
Easy 7000rpm shift points. But i never really found alot of info for tracks or track days or schedules. So i gave up on it.
Would still like to hit up an event one day, but i will go in my ss

When I try to create an account on the other board I get stuck on the random question part of the registration. It keeps telling me my answer to the random question is incorrect..... There is not actual question....Any idea what I'm suppose to put here?

Hmmm...not sure about the random question. I registered there some time back but I don't log in to view it. You might try to get a hold of a moderator there and let them know.

Here is the main site for the series. http://www.camaromustangchallenge.com/forum/

Another good one to check out if you haven't already.
