Hey everyone

So, I see there's no introduction forum here, looks like folks do it in the regional forums. So... here I am!

I'm a longtime F-body lover. I've owned a fourth gen V6 (first car I bought myself), an 89 IROC, and two others. Other than the fourth gen, they were all cheap rattletraps that I bought for almost nothing, made to work "well enough" on my meager budget, and drove the **** out of.

I also owned a C4 vette for a time. But I've always lusted after a clean, good condition third gen.

Fast forward to now. I've had a good career for some time, my bonus came in, my wife's lease ended and she's driving my SUV... so given that I mostly ride my motorcycle to and from work, I decided "**** it. I'm gonna search for an F-body"

After looking all over and seeing some cars, I ran across an ad for an 87 GTA in florida that looked extremely clean. I happen to have a good friend who owns a shop in Daytona beach, and he's also an F-body nut (think he may be on here)... so I asked if he could check it out. He brought cash, said the car was in fantastic shape, and bought it for me. I wired him the money, and i'm getting ready to fly to florida to pick it up in 2 weeks.

She's a beaut, and i'm stoked to finally have a good example of a car I've lusted after since I was a kid.

My friend in FL says it needs a few minor things. The usual rear seat damage on the top hasn't gotten bad yet, but it's started. The door panels could use some freshening up, and it needs an alignment.

Other than that he's gonna do all the fluids and I should be good to bring it back.

I'm flying out there the first with a friend and we'll have a road trip

Welcome to the forum, there is a North Texas Third Gen group in your area. Check them out of FB or Nttga.net, they are well organized bunch of guys and they have regular gatherings. Good looking car BTW.
