Thanks for the email Rocky. I'm in. I've got an 87 GTA...wish I had a fourth gen & my GTA...but it's not gonna happen in high school. Any of you guys ever frequent James Coney Island on Saturday nights in Humble?
What's at James cony Island on saturday nights? Is it an exclusive meeting of just 3rd gens? LS!RS: hey man, can't get enough of those meetings huh. You're going to bring your 3rd gen this time right? Cool, but i am up for this meeting also. Do you know where it might be?

Over at JC on Saturdays lots of classic/muscle cars meet up. Everyone from the occasional ***** (they are very rare) to the old completely restored rides to the Vipers and Firehawks to pick-up trucks & jeeps. Everybody. Anybody who just loves cars shows up.
I'm in on this meeting. Let me know if I can help in any way.

They used to have a "All cars" meeting at a James Coney Island over here on HWY. 6, but then they moved it to the Firestone down the street. Bad @ss meeting though. Complete and perfect cars meet there, and they have PERFECT cars. There is a Chevelle there that comes EVERY Saturday. And he has a, get this no joking, 622cid. ENGINE!!! His header size is like 2 1/4 inch pipes EACH! That's like my exhaust size. You should hear that thing leave!!!

I'm interested
I would like to attend a gathering. I just bought my 91 Z28 two weeks ago (I'm 51 and have been wanting one since I looked at new ones in about '85). I would like to see what other people have done and get some feedback on exausts and other stuff. Count me in.

Me & some of my homeboys go up there quite often on Fridays cuz its "Run what you've brung nite" There's always lots of bad @$$ rides out there....a few 3rd gens but lots of 4th gens, Rustangs, muscle cars & trucks.... itz real cool cuz if you see one that u really like the owner/builder is most likely really happy to explain... Fastest ride I've ever seen up there was a 69 Camaro, Cameleon paint, 633ci (I believe) w/ 1028hp & 900lbs. tq w/o the bottle....

Hey uh, I want in too... I live in Frienswood (between Houston & Galveston). Right now, I'm in the process of an engine rebuild, but I *might* be done by the end of the month.

I'd be interested in a 3rd gen get together at either the Kyrkendahl show or the one at Humble conie Island on 1960. I have a 91 Z-28 that I just repainted, it looks nice! I should be done putting the interior back together in about a week.

I think the Kuykendahl Car show would be a good Spot for us all to meet. Its cheap, theres lots of cars to look at, they got killer BBQ, and for those interested in crusing/street racing
the 1960/Rankin area is hard to beat. Probably a good spot to discuss more major events like HRP/Dyno date/ whatever. I realize that its a drive for some, its only about 20-25 min for me. Whos up for Saturday January, 26? Its still about 2 1/2 weeks away. The "street meet" as its called, usually starts around 7:30 pm. I'll give detailed directions to whoever wants to show.

92RSB4C,
I dont have the motor in the RS yet either. I'll probably be in one of the others, all depending on the weather. The truck has no heat!

Well, I'll probably get the engine built up this weekend, maybe installed. If not, I'll have to borrow my brothers 86 SC Camaro. It's only a 2.8 V6, but it's still a Camaro.

We need to copy and post this in other areas of thirdgen.org and other sites and try to get as many 3rd gens as we can at one place. The end of January, beginning of February time frame sounds good!

RockRS - where in spring are you at? Do live near Lexington woods? I know a guy that has a nice 6-speed 3rd gen that works at puffabellies. I'll ask him if he wants to go also. And I have a friend that has a 92 ILE with only 41,000 miles on it (it's very clean), he will probably go as well. Any specific day picked out yet?
To all - keep replying that way we can get as many people to meet up there.

Cool, Feb.2 sounds good to me. I've only driven the car once since I had it repainted! This will give me some time to have the windows retinted. I've been restoring it for over 2 years, pretty much since I bought it back in '99.
Hey Rocky,
The Iroc was running for alittle bit with the supercharger, but then broke. it is now down and I am going to be rebuilding the engine here shortly, but I did tow it down to my parents house.

Yes, it is at the Kyrkendahl show. If you are coming from the Katy area, head down 1960 like you are going towards I45, cross over 249, keep going down 1960 heading towards 45. Eventually you will hit the Kyrkendahl light. Hang a right on Kyrkendahl. It's going to be a few miles down Kyrkendahl on the left hand side. You will have to pass up the show and make your first u-turn. Then pull in the parking lot and pay the lady $2 per person. You cant miss it, there are all kind of lights and you'll see a bunch of cars and smell BBQ burning. Kyrkendahl runs parallel to 249 and I45. It's kind of in the middle parallel wise, but is closer to I45. Hope this helps!

That sounds good, Is it like a fairgrounds, or an ongoing show, or what? I guess it will either be Feb 2 or Jan 26, I dont care. I will watch here for the final date and time
What side of town do most of you live on? You know Kuykendual you have to pay something to get in there. Over here in the Pasadena area at Krogers on Spencer and Red Bluff there is always a good sized car show and of course since its at a regular parking lot you dont have to pay anything. THere is a Mexican food place across the street, a Quiznos, Baskin Robins, and KFC right there. This goes on every Saturday, weather permitting of course around 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. for the car show and then other people stay later to just hang out. Just a thought.

I live NW Houston area. I like the Kyrkendahl show. It's only $2 to get in!! Thats not bad! And there are only cars entering the show, not shoppers that drive through the show, like the one in Humble. I'll be there Feb.2 weather permitting.

Is your method of coming from Katy the same as coming from Humble? I'm up for a meet...but haven't ever even been on Kuykendual. I've got 3 guys around here that'd go and a couple in Baytown that might.

Kuykendahl street meet. Feb.2
DIRECTIONS STARTING IN HUMBLE ONLY - ok, if you are coming from Humble, take 1960 like you are heading towards I45. Cross-under I45 and keep going down 1960. I think the 5th or so light is Kuykendahl. In other words, keep going down 1960 till you hit the Kuykendahl light. When you get to the Kuykendahl light, hang a left. The show is a couple miles down Kuykendahl on the left. You'll have to pass the show up and make the next U-turn. Make the U-turn and pull up to the driveway and hand the lady $2 bucks per person. You cant miss it, there will be lots of lights and cars and the smell of BB-Q. Hope this helps!

Oh yea, just remember, no burn outs and keep the radio a little on the low side. Cops are REALLY bad in that area!! Speed limit is 40 or 45 in that area. See you all there!

I would love to be there....
Feb 2nd...... That was a fantastic day.....
On that day 21 years ago, the world was blessed, and I was born..... Great day for a meet...
It'll give me a chance to show off my Formula.

There's also going to be a car show at the Fuddruckers near Greenspoint on Feb. 2nd. A bunch of us from around the Woodlands will be there. Dunno if I'll be in my 97 or 92 since the 92 is needing some work before it's pretty.
Hi. I replied on ne3g, but I just wanted to clarify. I will be coming from Austin that weekend, but I live in Dallas. Still only 3-31/2 hours from Dallas though. If it needs to be changed to the following weekend, please let me know so I can make arrangements. Thanks. Yes, I am Sparky82. I used to have the same name everywhere, but somebody screwed with ne3g, so I had to change my name.

You can count me in on the kurkindoll(sp?)
That sounds like fun. Lets see, that's on a saturday, so what time would it be? Maybe since we are so close we could buzz Rankin or something. I like to see the cars in action. But yeah, what's those times?
