I should actually be able to make it this year. Assuming no one tries to steal my car again in the next two weeks. I should be getting it back tomorrow. I wish I had the 16's, but ya'll will just have to bear with me.

I'm planning on going. My car will be running again in the next week or two, so I'm gonna be ready for the Friday night racing. Which track is everyone going to meet at? Hopefully Ennis since I live within a half hour of it :lala:

i'm suggesting Cozymel's for lunch. Great place. As for the afternoon activities, I've been trying to find activities to do around here since I moved from Houston. we could test gravity somewhere.....

It looks like we'll be coming and meeting ya'll up at the Ballpark after breakfast.

I haven't been around in a while but I can pretty much guarantee I'm one of the oldest thirdgen.org members around! We look forward to seeing some new faces and maybe meeting up with a few old ones!

The weather looks pretty bad for this weekend. Is there a rain date for the swap meet or is it a go, rain or shine? Will the SWMG be a go, rain or shine?

I just e-mailed the swap meet guy about that. I really hope it stays dry. You really never know, though, as the weather people are wrong half the time, and we are in Texas. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
The SWMG is a go rain or shine. The way I see it, is that chances are that it won't be pouring down rain all day long. It may rain a bit here and there, but it shouldn't be enough to where we can't have the Gathering.

But seeing as how we're going to have to bring a 3 month old with us, it isn't fair to subject her to the rain. Besides, she's been in and out of the hospital and doctors office for the last two months so I never know how she's going to be doing. I do have to base my life around her. She is the most important aspect right now.

Also the boss has offered overtime for this weekend and since it doesn't come around too often, I may end up taking it.

Gee...I wish I could say I remember you, but... Which car did ya see, the purple/white stripe '92 or the blue '90? If it was the blue '90, ya won't recognize it now. I'll have pics online soon and share them.

We need to have a drag racing gathering for Houston

I live in Katy and went to the last gathering in Houston at Sonic on 1960. I know there are a lot of thirdgens in Houston. A friend of my fatherinlaw was telling me he sometimes rents a drag strip in Sealy called Raceway Park. It costs about $500 for about 4 hours. Ive been out to Lonestar Raceway in Sealy but its only 1/8 mile. Its fun and costs me $15 to get in and race in Test and tune. You can get about 4 or 5 runs in in a night. If we got a group together we could rent this strip and it would be cheap. Shoot, 10 guy is only $50 each and we could probably get 10 or 15 runs in or more. Maybe a few more cars even would be good, I think we had 12 or 15 cars at that gathering. That would be a managealbe number. I think it would have to be not on a Fri or Sat night, which could be a problem, but in the summer would be ok maybe. I'll find out about the specifics.

Who would be interested. We could have a combination gathering/drag meet out there. It would be great.

Post on here or email me at ldunlap@varco.com

TAKE IT TO THE TRACK!
