I want to go again this year. I went in 99 I think? (it was @ Andretti Speed Lab) and this past year. I was on the way with my car last year till a clutch line decided to bust and left me to drive to a gas station (blew a stop sign.. had to.. couldnt stop) and leave it there for the duration of the weekend.

Last year was fun other than the wreck. More third gens would be a nice thing though. Was concerning seeing some of them last year. Not really much of a showing till later on.

But yea... plan on going. Things seem to be leaning towards me going again, but not 100% yet. Lots of stuff happening this summer, esp w/ the car.

Hey Green grey,

Looks like you're now the appointed G8 liason to TGO. Weather you wanted to be or not!

...I mentioned it to my guys at GM Muscle, and some of my peeps are interested. The website isn't very helpful though. There's no schedule of events...times....specific locations...etc.

Some of us need to make arangements. Hotels and stuff like that. I know Charlotte Autofair makes getting a hotel REAL tricky. We need to move on this stuff ASAP. Do you know anymore details?

Oh my G8 liason... well if you really want me to... you asked for it
I assume it will be at the Marriot in Marietta, Ga as it has been for the past few years, I'll snoop around and see if I can't find some more info.. things still seem to be up in the air a little... the hotel is Huge tho so I wouldn't worry about getting a room

edit, I sent the event cord an email so I should hear back soon...

For those still interested the web site is completely up and running with all the details you will need. There seems to be alot of caravans forming in the meet and greet section of the boards on the site, so if you dont wanna travel alone hop on! Lots of fla and carolina people coming as well as bama and tenn! Sounds like its gonna be a real big turn out this year I'm excited!

I'll be there. I have already registered.

If anyone is leaving from or traveling thru Birmingham going to G8, there will be a caravan leaving sometime Friday. Details are still TBA. If anyone is interested, I will check this post later and post the details. I will also be posting the details on the Birmingham F-Body Association website (link in sig).

Sweet, I remember seeing your car there a couple years ago 9T1, look forward to seeing it again.. you might want to post your caravan on the show site as well, they seem to have a huge one coming up from fla and one from NC on there as well.

I'm in as well. My 350 TBI should be in, and MAYBE I'll have the car painted as well. That depends if I can find a Z-28 hood or not.

Yeah, I know what you mean. It's like either a 1st or 4th gen is the only thing anybody ever brings out.

Okay, if anyone is going to be going through Birmingham on their way to G8, there will be a caravan leaving Birmingham around noon on Friday.

We will meet at the Cracker Barrel off 1-20 at exit 144 in Leeds (just east of Birmingham). We will meet at 11:30 and will leave at noon.

Everyone is welcome to come along!

There are several pics from last years Gathering on the BFBA website at http://BhamFbody.com under the "Club Photos" section.

i went to the G-5 event and had a blast. iv been wanting to go back but i'b had setbacks that allowed me to only attend the bowling green event.
i WILL be there next year for G-9. if i can pull it off i'll have the Ms clutch trained and she will bring my 89 while i run the 83 down. but thats just a plan.
give a event report when ya fellas get back. have fun.

1st day review:

Not a lot of people there just yet. I imagine tomorrow it will be fully unveiled. There was a decent amount of 3rd gens there. I'ld say about 13 or 14. It was a 50/50 split on Firebirds and Camaros. As always, almost all of the cars there were 4th gens. I saw ONE 1st gen, and ONE 2nd gen.

I did get a chance to meet Bruce from Hawk's. He's a really nice guy. He had his teal Bird there. It's the one w/ a blown LS1 in it. Very neat. I also ran into the Alabama guys and Mr. Cracklehead as well.

I'll be back tomorrow to pick up some parts that Bruce brought me, as well as I'll be talking to Lon from Top Down Solutions.

WHERE ARE MY ATLANTA GUYS AT???

You should have stuck around, Jordan...you got runnerup in your class! They'll send you the plaque.
I don't know who won every thirdgen class, but here are a few from memory:
Redraif- (red/black 87 Firebird)
Kari Hunt- the purple 88 Camaro
Bob Rahl-red 84 Firebird vert
Chris Rahl-black 92 TA vert
The 82 white MSE TA won also, but I don't know the owners name
