Just a thought.

Anyone in their club with a third gen? IIRC, the last time I checked there was only a 1989 IROC.

I wish we had a third gen-exclusive club around these parts.

...the guy w/ the 89 IROC is a good friend of mine... last time I talked with him he was going to sell it. There are 2-3 other guys with thirdgens, but back when I was still in Pensacola they were not regulars. I was usually the "thirdgen" guy when I was there.

Of course then there is a real thirdgen on the boards, but I don't think he has paid dues or plans on it. TJ88Z28. He's on here once in awhile too. Baadddd '88 IROC.

I got a thirdgen also. I am member of the gcfba club. It does not run farther than my driveway right know. Hopefully by the end of the summer it will kick some 4th gen butt.

My first car= restoration project.

3ZZZ i belive i saw your car at the trans am gathering thing out at the island and was it covered all over with mold????? also was able to see it at the track. The first run got a little loose half way down the track after burning them quit a bit. Did u get some DR the last run? seemed to get pretty good traction.

hey smithtc you get those springs changed out yet? i was going to take my car next week but the bike fest gathering or what ever it is, is happening the 23rd so i guess i have to save it for the week after that. got a lot of new stuff to help make me be able to tune my car a little bit better. hopeing to see a good gain but always disapointed Hopefully i see u there by then making some runs in.

Firbird- I hope you weren't serious about the mold comment. There was some oil and tread on the side of the car, but not mold.

THe first run consisted of frustation (waiting an hour to run), nerves (everyone excepting alot out of the car with a driver that rarely drag races), and embarassment (the burnout did not go like it was supposed to). I think it went 9 something.

THe other two did have the dr on the back.

Second run 8.6 at 89 mph
Third run 7.82 at 90.5 mph

Finally finished fully porting some 083 heads. IN the process of swapping them on as well as doing a few other odds and ins. Takes more time to get finished than I would like. DOesn't look like it will be ready this weekend...probably next weekend of 30th at best. I think once you get your car dialed in you should see some 7s.

Firbird, yeah, I'll be sure to try and get in touch when I get down there. But you know how it is... too much to do, not enough time down there, and I gotta set aside two or three days for travel.

Nate, hehe.. I know the guy with the 89 IROC. Can't believe he bought that thing for $500.

One of us is talking about a different 89 IROC. Probably me... but 'IROC350' on the GCFBA board is the only one that I know of that has an 89 IROC that's in the club.

checkin in from Jacksonville. I got an 88 V6 camaro that needs some body work and paint job, hopping to get a summer job and make some money. Also thinking about putting a Flowmaster 80 series on, any opinions on that.

Well I can’t say that I was not serious, I might have made it sound worse then it was. when I walked up to it there was spots all over it don’t know if they were mold but odd color spots that looked like what happened when I had a car cover on my car for a long time. The car is very nice though, one of the nicer cars at the trans am show too bad it was the show was based on firebird models or your car would have been a good competitor

Not many third gens around here, though I did see a nice 91 gray Firebird with what looked like a couple of high school guys in it, right in front of Northwood Center.

FLYNLOW92RS I got a bunch of friends headed to FSU ...in fact I almost did...instead I'm off to The Citadel. Beautiful car BTW, I'd love to see it in person.

I wish we could get a thirdgen club or atleast a little get toghether once in a while. Even if it was just meeting up and cruising down to Bayfront in Pensacola and embarassing some R I C E R S.

If I were to start a northwest Florida thirdgen forum (I would just say Pensacola but I know there are probably more not from here than there are), would any of you guys regularly post there?

I've been thinking about doing it for some time but never got around to it. I know both Lewis (305RSlc) and I would post but I don't know many other people around here with thirdgens... even though I see quite a few of them lurking around town.

I would post if there was something to post about.... heh. I dunno what to say most of the time in the regional forums except "yea I'll try and be there" .. or "yes I live here" posts.

Oi... I thought you meant a forum section on here (thirdgen.org). Thought that was a bit odd.

I am a member of the Sunshine State GTO Association which is an all Pontiac club. As soon as my GTA is done I plan on showing it at local shows with my club. We are hoping to expand to newer members and anyone with a 3rd or 4th gen Pontiac feel free to join up and come hang out with us.

You guys should check out the forum I have set up and tell me what you think.

It's for all Northwest Florida people so that's pretty much everyone from Tallahassee and westward.

Just check it out and post if you want. I'm trying to get some activity going over there.
