new guy from NC

hey all guess ill start off by telling y'all my name is curtis (curt for short) and i live on Pope AFB in Fayetteville, NC. I'm only 18 years old and im a jet mechanic in the Air Force. My daily driver is a 2006 chevrolet silverado (bought it in texas in february) and i also have a 1981 chevrolet silverado (305, lwb 4x2) and a 1985 chevrolet camaro (2.5l). trying to sell the '81 if anyone is interested.

since this is a 3rd gen site ill give you the spill on the 'maro. its currently sitting in my parents backyard in columbia, sc waiting for me to put my welding skill to the test to build a trailer to tote it up to NC. it has/had a 2.5l "iron duke" 4cyl in it. ive pretty much ripped the engine out and in a couple weeks am going back to SC to take the oxy-acetelyne torch to it to completely gut it. my plans for it is to make it a 10 sec street car. i would like for it to weigh around 2600 lbs with me in it, if not less. im taking everything out, including the windshield and back glass and replacing it with lexan, gutting out the interior (door panels, back seat, lighter carpet, center console) so all that is left is a drivers and passengers seat, stearing wheel, dash and gauges.

hopefully within the next 6 weeks i will have the following done (with pics of course):

completely gutted
subframe connectors (welded in)
roll cage (welded in)

yea i kno its not much but i dont really have much time to fool with it.

in the end i would like to be running a sb 350 with a dual stage nitrous kit (50 and 300 shot), qa1 90/10 front coilovers, qa1 rear coilovers, adjustable ladder bars, harwood fiberglass cowl inducted hood, anti roll bar, weld pro stars with bf goodrich gforce t/a tires, th400 3 spd tranmssion with transbrake, msd 6al ignition, etc.

dont really want to get in on the specifics of the motor because im really not sure what i want to run yet... any comments or suggestions are appreciated...

yea i figured if i was gonna do it i might as well do it right. only downside is im going to have to hold off on the camaro project for right now (well until july 10th) because a few weeks ago i got a ticket for "reckless driving" because i chirped my tires in a parking lot ( 2 black marks about 4-6 inches long). kinda b/s if u ask me but i have to see how its going to play out.

the only good news is i found a bunch of kickass deals on evil bay for SCAT 6" connecting rods, and a forged steel crankshaft...

usmc42 i envy that ur a Marine...so u actually work for a living, lmao. we play spades for a living and pretend to work...

chevymec-what is HPJ?
