NC Inspection ?

So My 92 RS is due for inspection next month and will be the first time since I've owned it ( only had it for like 2 months). Previous owner put a flowmaster catback on without the cat. Everything I read tells me I'll fail the inspection without cat. I know it's safety inspection only but I think they check to make sure all the emissions stuff is there.

I just wanted to check with somebody who had experience with NC inspections before I bought a new cat.

They will check. Last inspection I had my cat was dead so I had to get a new one. But I through a good one on there to make it worth the money (Magnaflow).

Re: NC Inspection ?

You should be alright. It depends on where you take it but usually no one even checks that stuff on a safety inspection. Just take it to a small shop not a big chain store and you should be ok.

Re: NC Inspection ?

I don't think they can tell if your running Ethanol, correct?

So I would say yes, you would need cats. Assuming of course you needed cats for regular gasoline.
