Looking for Blk Firebird for indie movie

We used a black, 88 formula (already wrecked) for a low budget action movie shot outside of Atlanta GA. The car was towed to the location and a part of a police shootout that ends the movie.

We now have to match the car - unwrecked - for scenes earlier in the movie. These are not action or high speed driving - maybe next movie for that! We will pay a rental fee (negotiable) , a credit in the movie, and of course anyone associated with the car is welcome to hang out on set and be a part of things. Should be a fun day with bragging rights thrown in!

The car we used can be seen on the KERBEROS movie website

I know that for the movie, there are probably several years we could get away with but black with stock Pontiac wheels - of course the experts on this forum would pick out the differences in an instant!

any help, advice, and/or line on the car would be very appreciated.

Re: Looking for Blk Firebird for indie movie

Yeah - would of made sense except that my friends on the force said they could get me a couple cars - had em scoped out - pretty severe wreck. We showed up on the day and those were gone - hard to believe the insurance companies bought them back out.

So basically it was pick what they had. Was blk formula and a Volvo - actually had wrecked into each other in a police drug interdiction.. seemed pretty easy, but now having to match the cars... not so easy - course if it was bigger budget (hollywood style) they would have bought at least 3 or 4 matching cars and had them on hold to make the movie. We're not quite that lucky - so having to work a bit harder...

thanks to all

Someone put ground effects on that formula...you really could just find a t/a from around those same years and put formula on side(temporarily).

Re: Looking for Blk Firebird for indie movie

As fast as I edit - only the real deal like yourselves might notice... I'd be happy with anything close right now! Even if it never says "Formula" - I swear most people would never notice. Still dreaming of doing it right of course! I appreciate you checking out the site and responding. I know some people see everything - but most never notice and hopefully the story takes them past it...

Hey, besides being a director - I'm an actor! I was trying to act like nobody would notice!!

'Car People' and 'gun people' are the sharpest - they notice everything instantly.

Well, the OPs name does come up on IMDB..... http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0565955/
And the movie comes up as well..... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1262918/

Why fake a non-"famous", nationally known name?

Well - 20 buck is a big chunk of our budget! But no hoax. Maybe why I'm not in Cali anymore!

My name is Kely McClung, I am the director and one of the stars of this film, as well as several others - check out BLOOD TIES - and I really need help to find a firebird to finish up this film. All the interest and advice is so appreciated - making movies! Kely

Re: Looking for Blk Firebird for indie movie

I appreciate the help and time of the board...

I ended up buying an 89 formula - pretty rough shape int/ext but seems to run really well - bit of an exhaust leak - but shot it up to about 115 on the way home - will put it back together - not so sure about the ground fx - really only need it for the one day, but can not let the car keep me from finishing the movie... I'll keep you all apprised of what's going on and of course post when I have some scenes of the movie

thanks again - Kely McClung (Stickman was the name I was called after winning the 89 world championships in full contact stick fighting)

Just take the gfx off the car that doesn't run and put them on the one you just bought. If the paint is really faded on the running car that might stand out too much though.

Too bad y'all aren't looking for a black camaro... I'd let you use mine, and my technical expertise with cars and guns and police and military.... the list goes on.

Truthfully though, I have heard of you and know you are legit.

Re: Looking for Blk Firebird for indie movie

I agree with the above comment, just remove the ground effects (and bumpers) from the wrecked car... I have that EXACT same spoiler for sale in the parts thread for $35 if you come pick it up in Augusta... Good luck!
