Oh happy day! I really hope they got the SOB and not one of his doubles.
Re: Bin Laden=DEAD!!!
Screw it though. I'm not gonna let high prices get in the way of having fun. They'll probably try to screw us over for killing their buddy and raise gas another few dollars a gallon though. Wish it were possible for us to rely on just Canada and Mexico for gas.

Re: Bin Laden=DEAD!!!
Shadow Z, I have a Ram 2500 Diesel and I can tell you that even with the cost of Diesel being higher than gas, you'll get 30 to 40% better mileage with the Diesel especially if you are carrying or pulling a load. So you'll still be ahead going with Diesel if you need a big truck even if the fuel cost is higher.
Re: Bin Laden=DEAD!!!
Well of course that's true, I wouldn't want any gas powered truck unless I was loaded, and could afford the purchase price of even a used Ram SRT10, then the maintenance, upkeep, and the like 8 MPG.
I'd just be coming from a Mustang that has been average 22-23 MPG, to a truck that'll probably get 17 or 18 MPG, 19 to possibly 20 if I have a decent tuner on it and go easy. I think it's Smarty who has a tuner that on "level 0" cuts power to half.
The IROC would probably get damn good gas mileage at the rate I'm going. Had the engine pulled out yesterday, tore it down last night, and discovered it's a 4 bolt block. The junk 462624 heads are off, getting ready to pull out the internals. I'm really considering building a 383 for it now.
The thing is just going to be incredibly light. Pulled the doors off, stock hood off, interior is completely gutted. Just between going with VFN fiberglass doors, VFN fiberglass pin on hood, a VFN fiberglass dash, PA Racing tubular K member and a pinto style rack and pinion, Kirkey aluminum seats, aluminum heads and forged internals, plus having no AC, no heat, no radio, I think it could be 500+ pounds lighter than stock.
All the weight taken off of the front alone if I decide to pull the trigger on this and a 383 build could cut rolling resistance enough to possibly let it see 25 MPG.

Re: Bin Laden=DEAD!!!
We should be relying on our own oil. We have plenty, we just aren't allowed to get it. We would probably have more muscle car interest if prices weren't so outlandish. (No political debates, just one persons opinion)

Absolutely right, we should be utilizing our resources more and depending on foreign source as little as possible.

Re: Bin Laden=DEAD!!!
Could you imagine what life would be like if it was that way? My car would go from 156,000 miles to around 200,000 by the end of the year! Either way I think that if we used our own oil and were paying around 1.50 a gallon again that could very well pull us out of this depression! Because the cost of gas influences the prices of everything else around us!
