92 Camaro is flooding when gas is applied
My 92 camaro z28 350 tpi has recently had the computer replaced. Now the car has started to flood out
when gas is applied but it never shuts off. when it levels back out it has lost a lot of power and doesnt want to accelerate. any comments welcome.

Re: 92 Camaro is flooding when gas is applied
It is just acting like its flooding ones the temp get to around 175 it stops. But still seemes there is some power loss. it has been kind of cold for the past few weeks but the problem has just started a few days ago. about two weeks ago i noticed a pin hole leak in the radiator but if anything the car is running cooler than before the leak.
Re: 92 Camaro is flooding when gas is applied
Pin hole: Not suprising. As it looses coolant in the for of steam, the remainder expands a little, which has a minor cooling effect. Similar to how an aerosol can gets cold as you spray with it. Just physics there. Make sure you level doesn't drop to far or that phantom cooling effect will go away and you're screwed... :-)
As far as the power loss issue, I would first check the IAT sensor. This tells the ECM how warm the air is at the intake. A non-functional or false reading IAT will tell the ECM the air going into the engine to feed to much or too little fuel depending on what direction it is off... the hotter the air, the less dense the oxygen, so the less fuel the engine needs. A bad IAT does not always trigger your service engine light depending on HOW it's going bad.
If that isn't the issue, and it really seems to be misbehaving based on temp, it becomes a guessing game. Could be a coil/plug wires resisting, or something equally 'simple', or it could be your EGR valve. Any one of a number of things.
The more info you can provide the easier it will be to help... First thing I would do though, is open a new thread in the proper area. There is an area specific for engine issues, I'd repost there, you'll get more responses. Be as detailed as possible!
