Labor Day BBQ!
Alright, here's the lowdown:
What: Labor Day BBQ
When: Sep. 2
Time: TBD
Where: My House
Details:
I talked with the g-friend last night and got the green light. We have a fairly nice back yard with a large gas grill. We have a pool table and a dart board (I'm working on moving the dartboard outside so that both darts and pool can be played at the same time).
If you plan on attending, I would like to know so that I can provide enough coolers, cups, plates and plasticware. If you can't commit, come if you can. If it works out on Sept. 2nd, 20 minutes before you get to my place that you can join us, come on down!
What to bring:
Yourself, and guest(s). Bring something to sit on outside, as I have 4-5 outdoor chairs but thats it. If you have a card table, I think we could use it (depending on how many are coming) Bring what you would like cooked and what you would like to drink. I'll have some coolers and a fridge to keep the cold suff cold. I'll provide plates, cups and plasticware.
We'll need to figure out chips/snacks/desserts. I'm thinking potluck style/volunteer. What's everyone else think?
Where to go:
I will post a map with directions and phone numbers shortly. Basically we are located 1 mile from the I-17/loop 101 intersection in north Phoenix.
None of this is set in stone, so there are no bad ideas. Pm or email me if you can attend and include the number of guests you are planning on bringing.
Don't forget the f-body! If it can't come it's ok, but I live a couple blocks from a huge Honeywell parking lot, so we'll do some group photos. Lets make the rest of the regions jealous!
I'm thinking about a 10ish arrival time. That allows for some mingling before eating about noon. Then it's playtime until the sun is right for group and individual photos.

Boy, this sounds good. Kind of a long drive for an IROC with 3.73's! Oh well, gotta let it stretch its legs a little from time to time. I should be there. Dont know about the wife because she works at a hospital. Laters, TL

I sent directions and my phone numbers out by email tonight as an attachment. If you don't get it let me know.
There are a few new posters that may not have seen this, you're invited as well. Questions just pm or email me.
Things we need to decide on and then divy up:
chips -n- dip
vegi tray
fruit tray/fruit salad
potato salad
Any other suggestions?

I was sitting there thinking last night, if you're bringing dogs or burgers, don't forget the bread product to go with.
Alcohol of fine, but I don't approve of drinking and driving, so if you drink too much plan on crashing on the couch or floor.
Other than that I'll have the bocci (sp?) ***** out, the dart board hung and the pool table warmed up. We also have cards and video games (PS2, N64, GameCube).
If you have access to this list and have a third gen, you're invited.
Right now I have between 10-12 people coming.

iI'm goona show up. Hopefully I can finish my Z so I can bring it. All of us Tucson people need to meet up a roll out together. That way we can all take up the freeway on the way up.
How's that sound? Also, what time would all of us be leaving?

Me too, especially since I wasn't at the last meeting.
I'm not sure where to meet. Probably some place by the freeway that has a large parking lot. What about the time though?

If the everything goes as planned, you could hitch a ride with me. I most likely won't have anybody with me.

That's exactly why I suggested hogging up the freeway together. I have no doubts my Z will make but at the same time I had a bad experience coming back so I just want to be on the safe side.
As for the time, I'm not sure. What time does this thing start? I'd say we could meet up like 2 hours before it starts. That way we have plenty of time to get there.

Well, I got bad news.
Microsoft decided that everybody has to work so I'll be at work bight and early on Monday.
Unless I can get out before 10am, it looks like I won't be going.

J/K I have to work that day so I wont be able to make it. My wife works 6-2 and I work 3-10 so there is no way. Sorry guys. Maybe next time. Maybe next one could be at my place on base so we can all get some pics by the BIG planes and stuff. Laters, TL We do have an A10 on display, but I dont think that we could get the cars close enuf for a good picture. Any of you are welcome to come by and take a tour, just like I gave 5SIZ. Just let me know ahead of time so I can arrange it. This is still a closed base. I can get everyone on easily. We can take pics in front of C130's and B52's quite nicely. The pic I posted came out rather dark. Laters, TL
Yep, just went by the A10 display and there is no way to get a good picture with it. Sorry. We just got the B1 in last week. There are more to come, just dont know when. Seeing as I am a cop here, I just might be able to arrange a tour of the B1
