Lookin' for a GTA or IROC

If anyone around here has a nice TA or GTA for sale, let me know. He would even consider a nice IROC or Z28. My buddy just got back from being deployed, and is really looking for a nice thirdgen. Color doesnt matter and he kinda' wants a 350. He is looking to spend around $4000.00. If anyone knows of one or has one they would like to sell to someone who will take care of it, let me know thru PM or email. Laters, TL

When I got my Bird a couple of weeks ago there were some 88-89 GTA's in the Auto Trader for $4000 ish.

Here is a couple of cars that I took a look at prior to buying my Bird.

89 T/A white

88 GTA black

http://www.autotrader.com/findacar/v...&car_year=1988

88 GTA red

Hope this helps

I have seen those, but he is kinda wanting a car here in Tucson. I was hoping someone had a nice one sitting in the driveway, waiting for a good home. If we dont find anything here by Friday, we are going to go up there on Friday night and look for one on Saturday. Any good ones that we need to go and see? I would perfer to buy one from someone on the boards. T

I'd say your best bet would be in the Pheonix area. I searched for 3 months until I went to Pheonix. The second car I looked at was my Z. Good cars are hard to find and even harder for a decent price and in Tucson.

TL, Those 3 that I gave you the links to were the best out of the ones that I looked at. As of anything recent, I couldn't tell ya, but at least this will give you a starting point instead of running all over the valley to look at cars that are one step away from the junkyard.

Ok guys,
We have searched high and low here in Tucson, and we cant find anything worth buying. We are going to head up to Pheonix tonight and spend the night in a hotel. Is anyone willing to help us out tomorrow to find a good car? Neither of us know the area and any help would be great. There are plenty of nice looking 3rd gens in the Autotrader up there. Let me know if you have tomorrow off and would be willing to show us around. Thomas

Last seen headed south towards Tucson.......

A new 3rd gen owner with his black GTA

Left in Chandler a previous GTA owner who won't be able to sit down for a while after the reaming he just got.

Ohhhh, yeah!!! My buddy has had a grin from ear to ear on his face since 3 P.M. Boy, did we get a good deal. An 88 black GTA only needing paint for only $2900.00. Nada value is over $5400 on this car. The guy was asking $4100 for it and said that he would come down to $3400, so I offered him 29 $100 bills, and when he saws the $$, he said "OK!" Now, just to fix a few small things, like the hatch and hood shocks and maybe a new cat-back, and this car will be rolling with us to the next ATGO meeting and maybe to the track on the 28th!

I have to send out a big THANKS to James (Patient B5) for all his help today. We would have been lost without him. That is one big, spread out town you guys have up there.

I will try to get some pics of the car tomorrow and post them here for you guys to see. Later, Thomas

Man, the guy just bought the car and you are already starting it. Boy, the boards were nice and quite while you were out.

You will get your chance with me on the 28th. I didnt even put the headers on yet. Just my stock 350 with gears against your car that you have done soooo much to.

The GTA probably wont be there for the 28th. I want to go over it with a fine tooth comb to make sure it is in top notch condition. Just gotta work out a few small things with it (hatch/hood supports,
