My friend put one in a 79 Z28. He could probably give some pointers on everything you need, and what you should modify before installing, something to do with third gear. But never in a 3rd gen.

Good choice. Let me know if you change your mind or need some help with that one.

i have never done a t-56 swap into a third gen but i have pulled out t-5 and t-56 to some cluth work and the only thing that is diffrent form a t-5 and a t-56 is the crosmember and the speedo gear. if you have a t-5 in your car you put a t-56 in their and the only thing you would have to do it make a custom crossmemeber and find a way to make your speedometer work. I belive that you can use the same cluth master cylinder but you might have to replace the slave cylinder. the drive shaft and the torque arm are the same leanth. if you have an automatic you will have to cut a hole under your midle console for the shifter and an other hole in the firewall for the cluth.

mrt - good post.

The T5 master cyl. will not directly fit the T56 hyd. line. While if you extended the line, the master & slave would work w/ the 93-97 F T56, it's actually reasonable $ - wise to just buy the T56 master & slave setup, which do bolt directly into the third gen firewall.

Just thought I'd throw that out there for those wondering.
