That interior looks pretty clean, so does the rest of it. It's a base model firebird, no formula. All formula's came with the aerowing spoiler. The motor looks like a$$. Once you get it back here I'd be glad to help you out Amber. How and when are you planning on having it back here? Im not too sure the base models came with a 9bolt rear or even if 9bolts came with 2.73. Probably just a good ol 10 bolt w/ 2.73.

we are hoping to have it here soon because jet is going back to the desert in november so we want it here before then, but we are trying to get it here before you leave.Ya the engine is not in that best of shape but the rest of it is.We realized it was not a formula when we looked up the vin,his dad to us that it was a formula.

Yup it's time to go back to that wonderful sandox. Don't worry Eric, when we get the car here, I'll let you know. I'm can't wait to work on it.

I have a modified holley 600 carb, 34 mm sway bar, some interior pieces, firebird guage clusters, dash's, umm just a bunch of msc. stuff. cant really think of it all. IF you want to PM me a list of things you might need I can go check the stash.

it was a tbi but the owner took that out and put in a v6 and then put in the v8 that it has now, and now we have no idea what the engine size is in it as of now.

I used the K&N 14x3 drop base one. Also put on a 1" carb spacer. Helped out alot and was one of my 1st mods.

Make it louder with an open element, the only thing its going to do is make a sucking noise. Also without a cowl hood its going suck in hot air from the motor. Once you get it back here we'll get it running good.

Compared with the stock aircleaner, an open element will make it louder at WOT when the secondaries open up. The stock boxes are designed for quiet operation.

do you think that a formula hood is better to have or a ram air hood for the engine?
The Formula Powerbuldge Hood has timeless looks. The ram air hoods are ok but dont quite fit the lines of a Thirdgen Firebird. 2" cowl hoods look better then the ram air hoods IMHO, if you are planning to spend 400$ on a hood.

The only one I've seen is $900 on Hawks.

Heh yeah, hows that hood holdin up? All I got right now is a stock firebird hood off my firebird. We can always cut a hole in it and stick a pro stock hood scoop on it for ya Amber.

That's not very nice Eric. First your try to give her your dysfunctional carb, then you try to get her to go Jonathan on the hood.

oh snap, who converted it to carb? I bet they did it wrong, don't see a 3 port regulater anywhere in that engine bay. I have an assload of carb parts. The first thing you need is a chrome 14X3 cleaner. I have like 4 of those extra.

We are not sure if it was converted or if someone put a different engine in there. Once we get it out here we can take a better look at it.

LOL, well, as nice as the Open Element filters are, I must say I have learned my lesson on using them. Especially here in AZ during the hotter parts of the year. Actually slowed my car down. Winter time more than likely it'll be back on, or when I get my SS hood, whichever comes first. Just head this warning, and refer to THIS THREAD when you install your open element.
And ohh yeah, CLEAN looking car! :yourock:
